Chaos Magick Has Infected Our Ontological Networks
Who would have ever thought that studying the psychological model of chaos magick for the last 20 years would come in handy? Cultural and technological exaptation is a very funny and ironic thing. It’s surreal how esoteric concepts such as semiotics, memetics, and post-structuralism have become stochastically embedded into systems of surveillance and manipulation.
I was reading some peer-reviewed papers and found an interesting one from 2012 that dives into memeplexes in the context of stochastic search algorithms.
A Conceptual Modeling of Meme Complexes in Stochastic Search

It presents a conceptual model where memeplexes represent groups of memes that work together in a cooperative, neural-like network during the lifetime learning phase of a memetic algorithm.
These memeplexes guide local search behaviors, adaptively selecting and coordinating search operators to improve problem-solving. Memeplexes are not just single memes acting in isolation; they form interconnected networks of search strategies that coadapt, dynamically adjusting based on feedback during the search. This allows the algorithm to be self-configuring and robust, adapting its search strategy as it goes rather than relying on a fixed approach.
Embedding these adaptive memeplexes in algorithms tackling complex problems like capacitated vehicle routing leads to highly scalable, efficient, and competitive solutions, often outperforming human-designed or static search methods.
Memetics has become a core component in technological systems where memeplexes are not just cultural units but computational building blocks guiding intelligent search and optimization.
The digital world is essentially the postmodern expression of chaos magick; it’s an emanation into the noosphere. Social media platforms and algorithms shape your beliefs by feeding you rage bait, tribal politics, and memes.
Memes function like digital sigils—they bypass rational thinking and target emotional or unconscious triggers. They’re used to manifest outcomes ranging from social movements to elections.
The systems don’t care what you believe; they care that you engage. Your attention is the currency, and belief becomes a manipulable variable.

I did get the USB Flash drive to boot DietPi on the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B.
I had some issues at first, but then it stuck.
Now I have a big drive to play with. I'm going to look into getting a second USB drive that I can use for the DietPi backup utility.

Now if this applied to mineral specimens, ownership all the way from the mine to the present owner is important if you want to track down more details that may be important discoveries. Perhaps it reveals changes over time.
