Пробовала как-то Rutube, пока Youtube был неюзабельным. Из комментаторов одни саморекламщики. Интересный мне контент скопирован с YT ботами, а значит, если бы я что-то сказала, то автор бы мне не ответил. Быстро бросила.
Из-за того пиздеца, что YT устроил в отношении пользователей из США, я как альтернативу решила использовать один из инстансов PeerTube (если быть точным - cuddly.tube). Понравилось то, что можно выборочно импортировать с YT. Но я обратила внимание на более медленную загрузку. Один ролик я начала грузить в августе, он там так и не появился. Придётся рубить по кускам и грузить так, что ли...

Being bad at notetaking is a double edged sword...
on the one hand, I have like 6 or 7 different servers services running, some local and some on the public net (Tandoor, Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin, etc) that I completely rely on, and if the server were to really and truly cack itself, I'm not even sure what they all are, and I certainly don't remember everything did to get them all up.
I know #Docker gets a lot of shit, by the way, but the fact of the matter is that my Docker-based services would be the easiest to restore, as long as my ZFS array persists, cause it's all written in the docker-compose files. In most cases I'd just go `sudo docker compose up -d' and it would be like nothing ever happened. That level of ease doesn't have a lot of compelling arguments as to why you would want to struggle with outdated packages and whatnot.
But I'm adhdigressing as usual. The other edge of the sword is that living this way has forced me to be well-practiced at very quickly assessing a dead service or server and getting it back up and running, possibly not in record time, but inexorably and with zero doubt as to the successful outcome.
But how do you sell that skill, he wonders. "I have not gotten any new certifications because they are highly unlikely to be what I end up doing, and I will be just as good at getting it sorted with or without prior training, assuming it's the server itself, a missing or broken dependency, a faulty schedule, etc, that is the problem."
