When posting I was with caffeine, rarely seen without coffee. The commentary pulled me into the rabbit hole of xanthine compounds. I landed in spite, valuing accuracy over approval, in both people and systems. With enough coffee on board I can do that all day.

Hatte ein interessantes Gespräch mit einer Psychotherapeutin heute, die meinte als weibliche Therapieperson einen männlichen Jugendlichen zu therapieren sei nicht die beste Lösung. Es gäbe in dieser Kombination immer eine Hemmschwelle, die nicht zu überwinden sei.

To be clear I dropped Discord the moment it started adding clauses to the EULA not long after it had launched so I'm guessing at what Discord features you think might be useful:
the Misskey variant I'm on - Sharkey - has mark down and other text enhancements along with Channels which are essentially text chat hangouts, they can have banner images and MOD. As secure as posting on the #fediverse (ie unencrypted and basically invisible to non participants)
For impromptu voice/video and text chat that is sort of secure ( direct peer to peer for 2 users, switches to a video bridge for over 2 users) an off the shelf low hassle option is Jitsi - works with most browsers.
