I tried to do the #QuotePosts thing, but so far I've only managed to do this with my own posts - everywhere else I get a "You are not authorized to quote post this message".
This is one of the major reasons why I wanted to move to another instance earlier this year - my old instance hasn't updated their #Mastodon version in ages.
Presumably, a lot of the users where I get this error message are still on an older version of Mastodon - but I am also getting this message from accounts on Mastodon.social, which also uses the latest Nightly build. Perhaps quote posts are disabled by the accounts there by default, and need to be manually permitted by the users?
What are your experiences with quote posts? Have you managed to quote post other users?
Also, what #Android apps for Mastodon permit quote posts? #Tusky doesn't seem to have them yet.
EDIT: Apparently, Tusky can't even show them - the quote on this post is invisible!

The #usa leadership is already gripped by cultish ideology because absolutes based on loyalty to the chief now apply to facts and character assessments. #kirk There is no freedom of speech in a cult or #dictatorship because cult membership and acts, including speech, require loyalty and saving face for the leader. The law is progressively changed to align to what the leader wants. The #media that fall into line with the leader's speech are propagandists, because they speak as if within the cult. They do not speak truth to power.
A fascist state seeks to extend the requirements of the cult to everyone, even those who did not wish to join it. Since unquestioning loyalty of everyone cannot be assured, the state then resorts to intimidation or eradication of resisters. Only the loyal are permitted to be conditionally recognised as human and even then, only as symbols or proxies of the leader. A martyrdom is really the kind of tribute the leader wants bestowed on themselves, as if watching their own funeral (it's their celebration of loyalty to themselves).
