Traveling between four states and going to progressively larger places has entirely changed my perspective of distance over the last few years.
I used to think #boise was pretty big, but they also had no bus system so five miles was a lot more significant than it was in #losangeles #portland or #seattle that did.
Now I think the #sanfernandovalley is fairly small when it could contain all of the Boise metro area, and has 3 times the population.

Heute entscheiden die Verkehrsminister:innen über die Erhöhung des Preises des D-Tickets von aktuell 58 € auf über 60€. Das Ticket fing mal bei 9€ an, dann 49€ und nun wohl alsbald über 60€.
Argumentiert wird mit den steigenden Kosten. Aktuell gibt es um die 14 Millionen Nutzenden. Mit allem was die politische Kommunikation bietet, wird für die nächste Erhöhung getrommelt.
Wo bleibt aber dieses Engagement, wenn es, zB darum geht, Superreiche adäquat zu besteuern. Hier mal nur Schenkung- und Erbschaftsteuer betrachtet.
Extra für ihre reichen Freund:innen und Gönnerinnen haben schon vor rund 10 Jahren die SPD (wer sonst) und CDU/CSU die Verschonungsbedarfsprüfung eingeführt.
Alle, die über 26 Millionen Euro geschenkt oder vererbt erhalten, dürfen durch legale Gestaltung der Modalitäten, am Ende die eigentlich zu zahlenden Steuern so sehr senken, dass es ein Schlag ins Gesicht aller Arbeiter:innen ist.

Wenn also für eine zweistellige Millionenzahl von in der Regel Arbeiter:innen und Angestellten über günstigen ÖPNV diskutiert wird, unternehmen CDU/CSU/SPD ihr bestes, die Preisschraube nach oben zu drehen, gehen den Menschen finanziell, nun ja, an die Gurgel.
Wenn aber Multimillionär:innen und Milliardär:innen ihre Reichtümer mehren wollen, werden kniefällig die entsprechenden Gesetze geschaffen- es winken schließlich Einladungen in ihre Villen, lukrative Jobs nach der Polit-Karriere und der Erhalt der eigenen Macht und Wichtigkeit.
So ein § 28a Abs. 1 ErbStG ist ja auch, gääähn, schön kompliziert, nicht so knackig wie der Preis für D-Ticket oder auch die 563 € fürs Bürger:Innenfeld.

Fun fact, rotationEffect doesn't work very well with .glassEffect (the glass rotates and deforms weirdly) presumably because it doesn't actually change the view's geometry.
Had to animate the path inside the Shape for it to work with glassEffect.
