Es tut fast körperlich weh, zu sehen, wie das "Land of the Free", die #USA, den Abbau der #Freiheit akzeptiert.
Gleichzeitig sollte es uns als Weckruf dienen, uns selbst bewusst zu machen, dass die Freiheit, die wir genießen, geschützt werden muss. Und das ist mühsam, aber „billiger“ als alles andere.

Late night, and TV in general, is the one thing the US never got surpassed in. Somehow, you just can’t make the same quality of television the way you can copy microchips somewhere else on the planet. And of course, that’s the number one target of a dictatorship in motion. The US will end up as boring as any other dictatorship. We’ll have a USSR in the 21st century — except without good schools or health systems. Basically, just the bad part.

Es wird den gestörten Menschen ja auch durch profitorientierte SocialMedia ermöglicht, ihre Perversitäten öffentlich auzuleben.
Die profitorientierte #SocialMedia ist nicht gleich das ganze das #Internet
Das freie Internet gibt es unabhängig von Milliardärsplattformen weiterhin. Bestes Beispiel ist das #Fediverse hier oder sowas wie Wikipedia, die bottom-up funktionieren. Ebenso gibt es noch viele engagierte und unabhängige Homepages und Foren im Internet.
Vor den SocialMedia-Plattformen lag es an jedem selbst, sich html beizubringen und Websites zu veröffenltichen. Das hat viele Spinner ausgeschlossen, die nur rasch mal rummotzen wollten. Es gab im Netz eine Netiquette, an die man sich hielt oder es sonst schwer hatte.
Für viele hier im Fediverse gilt sie weiter.

Od kilku dni próbuję uruchomić drukowanie w PyQt6 na Windows i… już prawie ręce rozkładam 😅 Nic nie działa tak, jak ja bym chciał. Python pochłonął mnie tak bardzo, że przez ostatnie dni kompletnie zapomniałem o „bożym świecie”.👀

Aplikacja na Linux jest już prawie na ukończeniu – niedługo będzie dostępna dla każdego, ale muszę dopracować kilka niuansów, niestety. Wpisy na blogu…🤔 no właśnie, muszę nadrobić 😉 i odpocząć od tego całego PyQt6😂

Remember back in 2022/23 how folks were reacting to "Mastodon's poor UX" because it was defederated and you had to choose a server and then who to connect with/follow and that your timeline is other people's boosts so you see what you follow etc.

It just occurred to me, this was not the first time we've had this conversation 😂 - remember mIRC? Trying to convince your MSN Messenger friend to login into mIRC and join a room was exactly the same talk... only the tech jargon was 90s instead of 20s.

PS: mIRC was last updated in April with version 7.81 (don't know who owns it or if it is a safe/good client, just saying...)
