Sehr interessante #Rezension von @sebmeineck über ein Buch 📖 eines Digitaltrainers, der seine Erfahrungen in Schulen teilt. Vieles, was hier besprochen wird, erlebe ich genau so: die ausufernde Kommunikation in Chats, die Angst sich den Eltern anzuvertrauen, die Unwissenheit der Eltern über das Erleben der #Kinder im Netz, die wahnsinnige Sogwirkung von #Games und #SocialMedia, die körperlichen Auswirkungen wie Schlafmangel... Der Überblick bestärkt mich daher auch darin, dass ich die wichtigsten Aspekte, die die #Eltern unbedingt wissen müssen, auf dem Schirm habe 🗒️ und vermitteln kann.
Aber das wichtigste ist, dass die Eltern das dann (neben allen anderen Herausforderungen des Alltags und der #Erziehung) auch umsetzen (können). Denn, wie es hier sehr richtig heißt: "Es wird anstrengend, nervig und jeden Tag erneut ermüdend sein. [...]".
Aber: es lohnt sich 😍

I already saw in the replies people saying why didn't people react when Project 2025 came out, and no doubt will soon be more moaning about not backing Biden or voting for Harris, but the key date was January 20th 2021 and later - when the Democratic Party refused to prosecute members of conservative media and the Republican Party, who supported the current President's attempted coup, and still brush it off as a hoax today.
That was when the die for what's now happening was set in place.

Ein besonderer Dank geht an @Der Pepe (Hubzilla) ⁂ , der mit seinem spannenden Vortrag zum Inhaltsfilter unter Hubzilla für viele neue Erkenntnisse sorgte. Ebenso konnten @𝓒𝓱𝓻𝓲𝓼 und @Jupiter Rowland mit hilfreichen Hinweisen und Beiträgen wertvolle Impulse geben. Es gab zahlreiche Fragen, die wir gemeinsam besprochen haben – und am Ende war der Aha-Effekt deutlich spürbar.
Die Aufzeichnung und die Unterlagen findet ihr im eigens dafür eingerichteten Kanal. Die Seite wird in den nächsten Tagen noch ergänzt und aktualisiert. Nach Ende der offiziellen Aufzeichnung wurde außerdem noch intensiv weiterdiskutiert – sowohl zu Hubzilla-spezifischen Themen als auch über die zukünftige Gestaltung der Workshop-Reihe.
Insgesamt hat alles sehr gut gepasst – und wir sind sicher: das nächste Mal wird es noch besser!

The Quote-Post opt-in is a Mastodon concept. It is NOT a Fediverse concept.
Misskey, the Misskey forks (ex: Firefish), Pleroma, the Pleroma forks (ex: Akkoma) — have not only supported quote-posts long before Mastodon did, but — they don't care about Mastodon's opt-in.
...
The millions of accounts that Mastodon has defaulted to not allow quote posting will only be effective with other Mastodon servers.
Other parts of the Fediverse won't care.

Might consider migrating to a third-party PDS in the future. I want to self-host but I need to sort out money, mental health and actually how to spin up a VPS for that + HTTP. At least it's not as bad as hosting a fedi instance though.
As for hopping onto a third party PDS, I don't know yet. I'm still on Bluesky's atm, and I'm reluctant to leave because once you do you can't really go back to Bluesky's, and it's basically the ATProto equivalent of hopping onto a fedi instance after your old one got shut down.
