YouTube ha lanzado YouTube Labs , una plataforma para probar prototipos de IA, cuyo primer experimento es «Beyond the Beat»: anfitriones de IA para YouTube Music. Estos presentadores funcionan como DJs de radio, ofreciendo trivias, historias y comentarios durante las listas de reproducción para enriquecer la experiencia auditiva. La función está disponible inicialmente para un número limitado de usuarios en EE. UU. UU (Fuente Blog Youtube).
YouTube ha presentado YouTube Labs , una iniciativa dedicada exclusivamente a explorar el potencial de la Inteligencia Artificial en su plataforma. Labs se diferencia de la página de «novedades» habitual al centrarse en prototipos de IA de vanguardia y en buscar feedback de los usuarios.
El primer experimento que se lanza bajo Labs se llama «Beyond the Beat» e introduce anfitriones de música impulsados por IA en YouTube Music. Estos hosts tienen el objetivo de «profundizar la experiencia auditiva» de los usuarios mientras escuchan radio & mixes . Su función es imitar a los DJs de la radio tradicional, compartir datos curiosos ( trivia ), historias relevantes y comentarios divertidos sobre la música que se está reproduciendo. La inspiración para esta función proviene claramente de los Audio Overviews de herramientas como NotebookLM y la aplicación Gemini de Google.
Una vez que un usuario opta por el experimento, aparece un nuevo botón con un icono de chispa de IA en la pantalla de «Now Playing». Aunque el comentario de la IA está activado por defecto, los usuarios tienen la opción de «Snooze» (posponer) el host por una hora o un día. Es importante destacar que YouTube advierte que el «comentario de la IA puede contener errores», reconociendo la naturaleza experimental del prototipo. Por ahora, YouTube Labs y la función de AI Music Hosts están limitadas a un número reducido de participantes con sede en Estados Unidos .

My argument, as you’ll have guessed, is that they are connected either directly (for instance it’s obvious that Trump’s public revelation about Bagram can’t be coincidental with either the Saudi-Pakistan alliance or his call with Xi) or connected in that they all reflect the same underlying shift.
More profoundly, I think that the deeper trend that they reveal is that the map is reasserting itself against the narrative. For decades, we've lived in a world where stories mattered more than geography - where being a “democracy” or an “ally” or part of the “rules-based order” determined your place in the world more than your location, resources, or neighbors.
But these four events suggest a revenge of the physical world, a return of the law of geopolitical gravity when for decades American power distorted it by acting like a massive electromagnetic field that could make iron filings ignore the magnet next door. But electromagnetic fields require constant energy to maintain, and when the generator winds down, particles realign along older, simpler forces.
This is why I entitled this article “the return of geopolitical gravity”."

The #3dPrinting industry is dog shit when it comes to understanding #OpenSource, it's not Asia.
3dp folks in Europe (Prusa+multiple influencers) do not show understanding of OSS. Yet, more broadly, Europe understands OSS better than this side of the Atlantic.
I work with people in China daily in major open source projects and they do get it.
It's the 3D printing industry that doesn't (or willfully disregard it).

I've been bashing my head against a stone (in this case, silicon) for almost 10 months now converting my #Z80 assembler written in Z80, #v80, from its custom syntax to standard Zilog syntax. I've been reduced to writing a couple of _instructions_ a day due to background struggles in my life and after a recent failed suicide attempt, I'm not even sure why I'm doing this or what it is I should even be doing instead any more.
Ultimately I want to get away from the open hostility, deceit and disregard for users endemic in modern software. It's like "hate" is a malicious dependency that every app can't avoid nowadays. The left-pad of grifting.
I want to write my own text editor, but when you're dragging yourself toward that goal by bloodied fingernails, an inch a day, you're losing sight of what you're really trying to do, which is to find a particular kind of comfortable experience, hopefully as soon as possible.
And yet, still the fascists will come for me.
"Just write it in C" whispers in my ears, but I keep climbing the pavement because I know that compiler suites aren't reproducible or portable. If GCC or LLVM (or increasingly, Rust) don't support, or decide to drop support for my choice of hardware / OS, then I can never hope to rectify that on my own.
Ultimately, I know that I *like* solving excruciating problems of optimising single cycles and bytes, but when is this ever going to matter? What does it matter that my assembler is smaller and more efficient than others when nobody uses it? I keep cutting myself in halves to do the right thing and what I get for it is less friends, less people who use my software which is becoming increasingly obscure and niche. I already have no friends outside of the Internet, how much more must I give up to escape #enshitification?
I have been driven to death and back by stress and worry. I am overwhelmed to the point of meltdown just trying to look after myself. I do not possess the strength to fight for good software any more. I don't know where to start and if I did, progress would be glacial. Yet if I give up writing software, that will be just another part of me I've cut off to escape the destruction of what I love.
And yet, still the fascists will come for me.
We've reached a breaking point, like I have, where this can't go on any more. The software industry cannot be fixed without regulation and regulation cannot be put into place with fascism -- literally as I was typing this sentence, a toot just appeared on my feed about the UK's plan for a unique digital ID that would follow you across every site and real-world application giving the government Facebook-level of tracking.
Open source cannot save you from this when the worst people are in control. #Mastodon devs look up to Twitter and not Web 1.0; "fork it" is their response to basic freedoms like transferring post history. Sure, let me create _yet another_ piece of software nobody uses. That'll show them.
#Linux will not save you from Google/Microsoft/Apple etc. mandated software protocols that your bank now requires (because, App Stores), should you desire to feed yourself.
So here I am, pulling myself along the ground a few bytes at a time, because what else am I supposed to do?

Poverty is expensive, you never have what you need to live, your health issues compound and get worse because you can not afford to take care of yourself, you go hungry and lack nutritional balance because you can not afford food, your everyday needs go unmet because you can no afford the basic necessitates in life, everything keeps getting worse exponentially every single day, I live in constant pain which severely disrupts my sleep, then the stress of compounding need takes what little rest you may get away, it is a viscous circle you can not escape from, people I am drowning, I am begging for a life boat, that life boat is financial support, I need a minimum of $1500 a month, but because I never get it, I have gone hungry 1-2 weeks every month for the past 10 years, when I do eat it is one time a day, and I honestly have no idea the last time I had a real meal, and not just something to eat, my bed is toast and has been for many years making it that much harder to relax and sleep, I have no space for a couch nor recliner to try to rest in either, my clothing is falling apart and I can not replace it, at this point with everything that is piled up and not even looking towards the future, I need at least $25k just to get back above water, that still does not address the future and prevent the sinking again, I am beyond overwhelmed with everything, I am begging for help, please help me today, $5-10-15 It All Helps This #disabled Man Living In #poverty, via #cashapp at $woctxphotog or via #paypal at paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=… Thank You
