Há um padrão nas comunidades tecnológicas que, a certa altura, não dá mais para ignorar: uma preferência técnica transforma-se numa visão de mundo. Um princípio sensato torna-se um dogma. E, a partir do desejo de melhorar as coisas, para alguns isso acaba se transformando numa perspectiva de tudo ou nada: Ou você faz exatamente assim – ou é considerado “inconsistente”. A partir daí, não se trata mais de classificação, mas de pertencimento. Quem usa a solução “certa” faz parte dos bons. Quem se desvia é rapidamente visto como ignorante ou relutante. Abordagens alternativas não são mais consideradas uma opção legítima, mas como fundamentalmente erradas ou inaceitáveis.Quando princípios se tornam identidade
Isso tem pouco a ver com maldade, mas muito com psicologia. Quem investe tempo, se dedica de corpo e alma, se liberta de dependências e finalmente encontra uma solução que parece certa, constrói um vínculo. A convicção se transforma em identidade. E identidade não se discute mais, ela se defende. É exatamente aí que começa o problema: assim que a própria estrutura deixa de ser uma ferramenta e passa a ser parte da autoimagem, qualquer desvio é percebido como um ataque. Então, não se explica mais, mas se julga.Abordagens alternativas deixam de ser consideradas uma ponderação legítima e passam a ser vistas como fundamentalmente erradas ou inaceitáveis. É exatamente essa postura que faz com que os debates rapidamente se empobrezam: em vez de explicar e contextualizar, passa-se apenas a classificar. Isso dá a impressão de clareza, mas muitas vezes é apenas um substituto para o pensamento diferenciado. Quem julga em preto e branco não precisa esclarecer objetivos, compreender restrições nem construir transições ou pontes.
O cotidiano supera o ideal
Isso se vê em situações típicas. Alguém quer reduzir dependências, mas tem pouco tempo, pouca paciência e um ambiente que não colabora. A resposta útil seria: “OK, qual é o seu objetivo, o que é realista, por onde começamos?” Em vez disso, o primeiro passo é minimizado: “Se você não mudar tudo, não muda nada.” Ou alguém usa uma solução proprietária porque é o padrão da equipe. Uma abordagem pragmática seria: minimizar os danos onde não se pode decidir, mais um plano de alternativas onde se pode. Na realidade, muitas vezes surge um julgamento: “Então você faz parte do sistema.” Resultado: desmotivação. Não porque a crítica seja injustificada, mas porque é apresentada como um julgamento em vez de uma ajuda.Observação
Quem menospreza as pessoas por seu estado atual dificilmente as levará a tomar decisões melhores. O progresso surge por meio de pontes, não por meio de menosprezo ou ultimatos.Da evangelização à orientação
O problema aqui não é que alguém tenha expectativas elevadas. Expectativas elevadas são boas. O problema é a intolerância em relação a outras prioridades e realidades de vida. Muitas pessoas não vivem em modelos de ameaça, mas em agendas. Elas têm família, trabalho, associações, compromissos. Não podem resolver todos os problemas com «refaça tudo do zero» ou «hospede você mesmo». Precisam de passos viáveis em vez de exigências do tipo «tudo ou nada». E precisam de orientação em vez de slogans.Além disso: termos como código aberto e descentralização carregam uma carga emocional. São princípios importantes, mas muitas vezes se tornam simplificações nos debates. Código aberto é uma vantagem – mas não um passe livre para “isso é automaticamente bom”. Aberto não significa automaticamente testado. Aberto não significa automaticamente seguro. E aberto muito menos significa automaticamente bem mantido, bem documentado ou confiável a longo prazo. O mesmo vale para a descentralização: ela pode reduzir dependências e aumentar a resiliência, sim. Mas também pode trazer atritos, esforço de suporte e complexidade. A centralização pode concentrar o controle e criar riscos, sim. Mas também pode reduzir barreiras e, acima de tudo, possibilitar que as pessoas deem um passo na direção certa. Quem não suporta essas tensões, muitas vezes não quer aconselhar, mas converter.
O que se deve fazer melhor
Se realmente se quer melhorar algo, é preciso sair do dogma e entrar no contexto. Primeiro esclarecer o objetivo, depois selecionar as ferramentas adequadas. E para que não haja mal-entendidos: eu também considero o código aberto (extremamente) importante, a descentralização sensata e a soberania digital um objetivo legítimo. Só que isso não é um passe livre para dogmas. Quando bons princípios se transformam em pressão social, perde-se as pessoas que se quer realmente alcançar. É preciso bom senso, contexto e, acima de tudo: a vontade de envolver os outros em vez de lhes dar lições. O progresso raramente surge de exigências extremas, mas sim de passos realistas que funcionam no dia a dia – e de uma comunicação que explica, em vez de julgar.
