Interesting, #YouTube seems to block IPs instantly when watching spicy videos with thrid party clients or using yt-dlp without a vpn. Observed this behaviour now multiple times. By blocking i mean asking for verification or demanding a captcha and it does seem to be Independent from the age or violence verification system because the videos i run into this do not actually demand a verified account to be watched.

Seeing what #BlueSky is doing and that I've only now seen who the old CEO (who hasn't left but moved roles) really is, I no longer care to see posts nor people who bridge from there.

My first #indiegame now has a website, (mostly) made with pure #css and semantic #html with a library I developed from scratch some time ago.
To keep things simple, it follows some of the folder structure used on the #godot branch of the project, making a nice bridge between #gamedev and #webdev. Since this is an #opensource project, I hope my work can help other developers in the future.

So it’s very interesting learning about a bunch of work with #Bluesky happening after the DDoS they had.
There are many groups creating their own Personal Data Server (PDS) and then groups creating AppViews and Relays. Bluesky as a company has shown they can’t be relied upon and ATproto is creating decentralized systems.
I for one wish for a day when both #ActivityPub and #ATproto work together. Imagine getting posts no matter the software you are on. I think that day may come soon.

I am in the "avoid anything using the word 'AI'" crowd, because I know almost enough about machine learning to be dangerous. There are some tasks for which it is well suited. Search and talking to humans are two for which it is not suitable.
The harder part is finding decent human-created content. I rely on the IndieWeb, word-of-mouth on the #Fediverse / #BikeTooter, and a few respected periodicals.
