The reports may be minor, but they're still time consuming. So we drop the reports into our own AI tools for review, while also looking at them ourselves. If a fix is needed and its a drudge work change: delegate to the AI
Which brings us to the next problem: we used to hide not-yet-announced fixes in nondescript PRs "clean up auth stack". "More tests and better error messages on decryption" and now the LLMs can review all these patches and identify the security fixes, before they're announced.
Maybe we all need to go to the weekly release cycle of chrome -but who is set up for that?

I never liked Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, ever since I started using them. I've recently migrated first to Substack and now to Mastodon and I do have hope for social media platforms now.
I'm sure both platforms are not perfect, but they are the only two where I feel like I can express my opinion freely.
I believe the ads model of the Zucks of this world have lead directly to the current political polarization and the more alternatives there are to that model, the better.

In short :
- The pin you set to lock the app is encrypted, not hashed, which means with the private key of the app it could be reversed (there's no need to get that as you'll see in the next points
- Once you verify your age, the pictures and data identifying you is not deleted. Although on regular phones you and other apps can't access it as they are protected at the Android level, this is still a breach of GDPR
- The app's data is stored in a shared preferences file, which is pretty much just plain text. If you delete the key for your PIN, the app will let you create a new one, and still access the data of the old account.
- Nevertheless, the EU still brands it as a privacy friendly option on their site at https://t.ly/labwF
In short, don't verify your age online! This is really bad for privacy!

CISA added Apache ActiveMQ CVE-2026-34197 to the Known Exploited Vulnerabilities list on April 17 with a federal deadline of April 30. Horizon3's Naveen Sunkavally found the bug by running Claude over the Jolokia code. The flaw has sat in the codebase for 13 years. 8,000+ brokers on the open internet, admin:admin still the common credential. I have watched every real incident start with an unrotated credential, not a zero-day.

Es ist manchmal verrückt zu sehen, wie die KI Thematik überschätzt ist und wie fernab KI von Intelligenz ist und wie die Versprechen der Branche an der Realität vorbei gehen. Stellt man der KI eine Frage, die wenig Ähnlichkeit zu ihren Trainingssätzen hat, kommt sie so hart ins Schwimmen und merkt es selbst nicht. So zum Beispiel die Aufgabe, ein Gedicht zu schreiben, in dem die Anzahl der Buchstaben der Verse eine definierte Länge haben. Selbst nach mehrmaligen Aufforderungen zur Korrektur keine Verbesserung. Da wird auch Addition natürlicher Zahlen für die KI zu einem unlösbaren Problem.

I've been thinking about the #fediverse and #ipfs
Automatically rehosting, archiving and spreading content is attractive. Be that memes or "hard content" like articles, scientific, archived news, etc.
ipfs has a weakness with editing content, because the content address points to that specific version.
But at least on #mastodon we have fields in our profile that could serve as a static entrypoint, linking to a homepage on ipfs and then it would be independent of the fediverse.
