@craftxbox That's not a good answer at this point. Unfortunately the technology is here (read: in the word as well as the #fediverse) in its current form and state.
There are narrow cases in which #ai has been used in a manner that is useful and serves the public good. One such example was the journalists (I believe from ProPublica) that used AI to analyze the documents that were being removed from government websites to determine what criteria was being used, and what information was being lost. This would have taken weeks or months with traditional analysis tools, whereas AI was able to accomplish the task in a matter of hours... And it found things that would not have been found otherwise.
(Note: the above use case was not used to produce a final report, but was used by journalists to verify the information that was uncovered. The journalists were then able to write an extensive article on the findings.)
So, that case leaves me in the 90-95 percent of AI usage is not appropriate camp.
IMO - if an AI agent / bot is going to exist on the Fedi, it should follow the following criteria (as a start, more could / should be considered):
- The profile must indicate that it is an automated, AI profile
- The account should not interact with anyone on the fediverse
- The account may only be used to aggregate specific information / posts
- The profile must clearly indicate what information is being aggregated
- The profile must clearly specify which LLM's / AI providers are being used. (IMO - in a perfect world, only locally hosted LLM's would be allowed - but that might be difficult to regulate.)
- The profile must link to a publicly available source code repository for the bot.
- The source code for the bot must be available under an open source license.
- The source code repository must contain a clear, detailed, an end-user readable set of documentation for the bot.
- The bot documentation must be linked on the bot's profile.
- The bot must provide a tool that is clearly linked to allow users to search for any posts from them that have been scanned by it.
- The bot must provide a mechanism for complete removal of any and/or all posts from them. (This tool should also provide feedback for the completion of this task.)
- The bot must provide a mechanism for the user to exclude their posts from any future scans that the agent / bot is performing.
I think those are a pretty good start. I could see some additional ideas coming out of this, like have an AI Agent / Bot registry. The registry could (using the above) serve as a place where users could look up the AI Bots, get a short description of them, and have links to the bot, to the documentation, to the search / removal and exclusion tools.
IMO - I think this could even be developed along the lines of FediObserver, or FediDB is there was some #fedidev that was enterprising enough to undertake the task. ;

Предистория В далёком-предалёком 2021 году мне довелось поучаствовать в разработке алготрейдинг-платформы для криптовалютных бирж. Выбор языка пал на Python из-за разнообразия ML-библиотек, возможность быстро собирать прототипы и проверять идеи, отсутствия этапа компиляции и в целом наличия богатой экосистемы. Если какая-то идея взлетит, критичный участок всегда можно оптимизировать, хотя бы частично переписав его на C/C++/Cython.
