2. There is no #Python for #OS1337.
Tho granted it's entirely obsolete on a distro that doesn't even have multiuser support and boots into a #console with #root access...

The United States Air Force has announced plans to acquire five Boeing E-7A Wedgetail surveillance aircraft. This decision adds to an existing contract for two prototypes of this type. Consequently, the total number of ordered aircraft will reach seven units. At the same time, the U.S. military department has adjusted its earlier intentions regarding a larger-scale replacement of the airborne early warning and control fleet. The new approach involves a more gradual modernization of the fleet rather than a single large-scale procurement.

Eine (verspätete) Grabrede auf ein Lieblingsblog
Meine Grossmutter väterlicherseits war eine begeisterte Leserin von Frauenzeitschriften. Sie interessierte sich speziell für Postillen einer speziellen Unterart. Wie die hiessen, weiss ich nicht mehr, aber mit einer Publikation wie die «Neue Post» liegen wir nicht gross daneben. Inhaltlich ging es vor allem darum, dass normale (nicht prominente) Personen von den Prüfungen des Lebens berichten und vor der Leserschaft ihr Leid ausbreiten.
Dieses Prinzip übertrage ich heute in die digitale Welt. Ich berichte von einem traurigen Schicksal eines Absturzes in die Gosse. Es geht um eine Verstossung von solchem Ausmass, dass ich mich wahrscheinlich nicht an der Regenbogenpresse, sondern vielmehr am griechischen Drama orientieren müsste. In dieser Tragödie versumpft der Held in einem dubiosen Umfeld von Glücksspiel und Suchmaschinenoptimierung. Es gibt einen kurzen Moment der Hoffnung, der wie eine Auferstehung erscheint. Doch er erweist sich als Illusion.
Es geht, wie ihr vielleicht schon vermutet, nicht um einen Menschen. Die Rede ist vielmehr von einer Website, bei der die Chance intakt ist, dass sie euch im Verlauf der letzten zwanzig Jahre ebenfalls begegnet ist.
Ein Kind seiner Zeit
Kwerfeldein erblickte am 13. April 2005 das Licht des Internets und verbreitete anfänglich eine seltsame Mischung aus religiösen Bekundungen und Alltags-Trivialitäten wie dem schmutzigen Geschirr in der Spüle. Ein wildes, undifferenziertes Themenspektrum war typisch für die Blogs in der Anfangsphase. Die sozialen Medien, die später zum bevorzugten Kanal für derlei Inhalte werden sollten, waren erst im Entstehen begriffen, und die Erkenntnis, dass auch in dem alternativen Mediensegment ein klares Profil und eine inhaltliche Fokussierung hilfreich sein könnten, musste erst gemacht werden.
Heute ist die Antwort meistens: Suchmaschinenoptimierung.Diese Entwicklung ging bei Kwerfeldein zügig vonstatten (deutlich schneller als bei mir). Bald tauchten erste Beiträge zur Fotografie auf. Im Oktober 2005 wurden diese Aktivitäten konkreter und im Frühling 2007 wandelte sich die Website in ein Fotoblog. Der Autor, Martin Gommel, trat mit einer klareren Mission auf: Er lebe in Karlsruhe, schreibe über Landschaftsfotografie, Kreativität und Inspiration, und er gebe Tipps für beginnende und fortgeschrittene Fotografen.
Vom Blogger zum Fotojournalist
Das tat Martin so leidenschaftlich, dass er 2011 für den Grimme-Preis nominiert wurde und spätestens in dem Jahr auch auf meinem Radar auftauchte¹. Das Blog wuchs sich zu einem Online-Magazin aus. 2015 zog Martin weiter. Er arbeitete als freier Fotojournalist und wandte sich dem Thema der psychischen Krankheiten zu. Er werde nicht akzeptieren, dass Menschen mit Depression ignoriert würden, sagte er 2022 dem Deutschlandfunk. Darüber schreibt Martin auch bei Krautreporter. Kwerfeldein entwickelte sich in dieser Zeit zu einem «tagesaktuellen Magazin mit einer Redaktionsfamilie».
Doch im Juli 2024 war Schluss, danach erschien eine Fehlermeldung und anschliessend der Hinweis, der Hosting-Account sei eingestellt. Eine offizielle Erklärung fand ich nicht. Aber es ist nicht abwegig, zu vermuten, dass sich ein professionelles, alternatives Informationsangebot im Internet in Zeiten des Medienwandels nicht mehr rechnete. Ein Finanzierungsversuch via Steady konnte daran nichts ändern.
Statt Fotografie gibt es heute Werbung für Online-Casinos
Dann passierte das, was leider häufig passiert: Die Website, bzw. Domain fiel in die Hände jener Gilde, die man in diesem Kontext als Leichenfledderer bezeichnen möchte. Die Adresse leitet nun weiter auf eine Seite, die Suchmaschinenoptimierung für deutsche Online-Casinos betreibt.
Ein unrühmliches Ende. Falls es wirklich ein Ende ist. Ich erhielt vor einiger Zeit ein Mail mit dem folgenden Inhalt:
Bei der Überprüfung Ihrer veröffentlichten Materialien haben wir einen Link zu unserer früheren Domain festgestellt (kwerfeldein. de). Diese Domain wurde inzwischen an einen externen Anbieter übertragen und enthält nun Inhalte, die nicht mit unserer Mission vereinbar sind und die Leser irreführen oder dem Ansehen unserer Marke schaden könnten.
Die neue, offizielle URL sei querbeet-journal.de-html.com. Ist die eingangs erwähnte Auferstehung? Man könnte es meinen, denn in der Blogroll werden diverse Artikel von 2025 aufgelistet. Bei näherer Betrachtung scheinen die allerdings allesamt falsch datiert zu sein und von 2012 zu stammen. Mein Eindruck ist, dass ein uralter Stand des Blogs reaktiviert wurde. Wozu das gut sein könnte? Ich habe keine Ahnung. Ich tippe auf eine konkurrenzierende SEO-Aktion.
Der Niedergang ist symptomatisch
An dieser Stelle bleiben mir nur zwei betrübliche Erkenntnisse:
Erstens gibt es einen, der am Ende am besten lacht – und das ist anscheinend immer der Typ von der obskuren SEO-Agentur. So war es bei Blogwerk und bei der Website der Zeitschrift Publisher, für die ich bis 2019 arbeitete. Vermutlich wird es auch mit dieser Domain hier irgendwann so enden. Ich verweigere mich den Sirenenklängen der SEO-Branche standhaft, doch irgendwann wird auch mein Stündlein schlagen.
So traurig das ist, hier trotzdem ein grosses Dankeschön an Martin Gommel: Du hast das Web über Jahre bereichert. Und das ist (zweite Erkenntnis) etwas wert, auch wenn es nicht ewig währte.
