Вместо внутренностей движков и законов распределённых систем посмотрим на эти технологии как на кубики LEGO: какую роль каждая из них играет в архитектуре и как они стыкуются друг с другом. Это будет практический туториал: начнём с минимальной конфигурации и постепенно соберём сложную систему. Статью можно просто читать как обзор архитектуры, а можно запускать каждую конфигурацию и изучать её в деталях. Для этого достаточно Git , Git LFS и Docker Compose . Всё запускается в контейнерах. Shouldn't the #GovtNZ mobile app be open source? So that at least citizens can re-build it to make it work on their own terms, even though they may not distribute supported binaries that are locked down? Build versions that work on the likes of LineageOS, GrapheneOS or others. Versions that are distributable via F-Droid or other app stores. Versions that are potentially stripped of telemetry/phone home functionality.
**At a least,** code that can be audited, verified and (re-) built to assure it doesn't contain 'bad stuff'.
After all, it's been tax payer funded.

Today I learned that I can use pip in a temporary virtual environment to install the latest pipx. Then use that copy of pipx to install pipx globally.
This is useful for when you're using an LTS release that has a much older version of pipx, and you need a way to use the latest features. In my case, I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy), and I really needed a later version of Ansible (installed globally) and inline script metadata.

"The prevalence of aged politicians is almost certainly increasing the mass abstention of the young from political participation. The older the politicians, the less credence younger constituents give to the idea that their votes matter. They may even start to doubt the basic worth of the political system and let it fail. A study comparing different countries, including the United States, concluded that the bigger the age gap between people and their politicians, the weaker the population’s confidence in democracy.
In short, it’s not just that our politicians are old. It’s not just the cognitive or bodily decline they suffer. What’s most important is that such leaders represent an aging constituency that controls the political system. They are also the visible face of the elderly’s domination of private forms of power, chiefly wealth: aging Americans control the biggest bank accounts and stock portfolios, partly as a result of living long enough to accumulate more and more without giving much away. The government is bought and paid for by members of the oldest generation, and it is organized for their sake. There is no way to separate the age of our elites from their ascendancy. In America today, age is the modality in which class is lived—with apologies to the late, great cultural theorist Stuart Hall, who said the same thing about race."

"The Iran war is “the greatest global energy security threat in history”, according to the head of the International Energy Agency. The US tariff rate is at its highest level since the early 1940s, and could rise further. President Donald Trump’s caprice shows no sign of letting up. And yet, after a powerful rally, the S&P 500 has hit a new record.
Stockpickers have not entirely ignored Trump’s protectionist agenda or the Middle East conflict. But much like investors use earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) to focus on the core value of a business, the market as a whole appears to be trading on another adjustment. Call it Earnings Before Iran, Tariffs and Dubious Announcements. What explains this?
First, it is never easy to price uncertainty. But between ever-changing tariff rates, evolving war scenarios and Trump’s Truth Social feed, it is harder than usual to separate signal from noise.
This is illustrated by the decoupling of the Vix — which measures the market’s expectation of volatility in the S&P 500 — and the economic policy uncertainty index. Both typically move in tandem.
But since the US president’s second term began, the former has been comparatively tame, while the latter has shot up. The only time this has happened as starkly was during Trump’s first term, according to data stretching back to 1990."

In case you have ever wondered what it would look like to have all of your favourite console output piped through lolcat(6) 🏳️🌈, here is a nice example
required (one of *sh is enough)
- Open Source OS

- syntax skills on piping I/O
- love of colours
- typing skills

...will get you the standard sh output delimited by the man command itself. This means that I used a simple trick to get all of my output piped through lolcat
ssh -Xv -p65534 -l userid |lolcat
This command syntax gets all of my commands in that ssh session piped through lolcat, creating an awsome rainbow colour galore

- ssh secure session piped through lolcat gets you a slower output, compliments of the inner workings of lolcat. Feel free to optimize the program and release the patches if the lowerspeed irks you.
- test the speed by doing
ls -lR ~and compare that in a standard ssh sessios without full lolcat pipe- I used the -X switch because I also start X programs from this shell (which I run in Xorg {it also works in wayland})
- I use the -v switch because I love log messages of ssh
- I watch the output on a large TV also, because lolcat(6) 🏳️🌈 is that awsome
