Neulich war Bluesky ausgefallen, das Gleiche soll mit der größten Mastodon-Instanz passiert sein. Beide gerieten unter Beschuss per DDOS. Eine DDOS-Attacke ist quasi so etwas in der Art, dass ein Server so lang mit Anfragen beschossen wird, bis der seinen Dienst quittiert. Jaja, die Alleswisser werden hier wieder sagen, dass das nicht exakt genug ist. Das kann ja sein, aber wenn das hier Leute lesen, die nicht so tief in der Materie stecken, brauche ich da nicht mit Details um die Ecke zu kommen.

There was a post on bsky that was exactly what happened to me recently - being asked to review a paper partially 'written' with chatGPT. I emailed the editor (Elsevier journal) to say the paper should not be accepted for peer review. I rejected the paper. Their AI policy is laughably useless. The screenshot is what the more serious academic sent to another editor of another journal.
Just say no.
