«Говорящий не знает, а знающий не говорит» или про начавшиеся поставки Pebble 2 Duo и производство Pebble Time 2 — это не устройства на eInk- дисплеях или же e-Ink. Там иная технология, тоже энергосберегающая и древняя, но с частотой обновления почти 60 Гц (что до сих пор недостижимо для eInk-устройств).
В русском языке прижилось название трансфлективный жидкокристаллический дисплей.
«transflective» = transmissive + reflective.
В данном случае это MLCDs (Memory LCD Display), поскольку с эффектом памяти — не требуется энергия для поддержания картинки, расходуется лишь при обновлении/изменении отображаемого.
Т.е. у Pebble 2 Duo хорошая анимация и скорость обновления экрана, который выполнен по технологии чёрно-белого трансфлективного MLCDs дисплея. В то время как у Pebble Time 2 такой же, но уже цветной дисплей.
Возможны три варианта работы такого дисплея:
Навеяно чтением многочисленных псевдо-новостных заметок и якобы обзоров на таких помойках как хабра-швабра. Снобизм и гордыня? Просто убеждает, в 100500-й раз, насколько верен принцип «говорящий не знает, а знающий не говорит».
Кстати, в программно плане Pebble OS и софт для устройств уже и open source и могут проходить по тегу #diy Поскольку десять лет паузы подтвердили то, насколько хорошо на прочность и сообщество фанатов и жизнеспособность десяти тысяч приложений для этой платформы.

Some historical documents from 2009 for #TextureTuesday... A high-res render and some detail crops of the award-winning generative typography & branding system/application I designed & developed for the DECODE exhibition at Victoria & Albert Museum London (one of the largest group shows the V&A had organized and curated in a few decades, and which later traveled to other museums worldwide)...
The entire identity system & application was/is open source (a world's first back then) and was created with my toxiclibs toolkit (3D geometry, meshing, voxel-based volumetric modeling, animation) and Processing (GUI). Rendering using Christopher Kulla's Sunflow.

Spinnaker, the open-source continuous delivery platform from Netflix and Google, patched CVE-2026-32613, a CVSS 9.9 remote code execution in the Echo notification service. Echo did not restrict its Spring Expression Language context to trusted classes, giving attackers full Java process access. Maintainers back-ported across four branches (2026.1.0, 2026.0.1, 2025.4.2, 2025.3.2). Quality is what maintainers do the week a critical hits an old branch.

It may be due to things I cannot see, but in my experience #ClaudeCode burns token quota almost twice as fast working on #SwiftUI as it does on html/css/js tasks. Is it because the training data is richer for old-school web tech? Or is it that SwiftUI has so much hidden complexity that Claude is eating its own output over and over again to desperately try make sense of it?
I know which one fells more like my sad human brain’s similar efforts..,

Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive are convenient services that millions use daily. But behind that convenience lies a cost that few acknowledge: your files are stored on servers owned by corporations that have full access to your data. They analyze your documents, your photos, your spreadsheets—for product improvement, targeted advertising, or simply because they can.
If you store sensitive information—business correspondence, medical records, legal documents, financial statements—the risk is even greater. Google can freeze your account at any moment, and with it, access to everything stored there. This has already happened to thousands of users worldwide.
Nextcloud is the answer. It is open-source software for building your own cloud server on your own hardware. Your files on your hardware, under your control, without any third parties.
Nextcloud has evolved far beyond simple file storage:
File sync across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android with versioning and sharing
Online document editing through Collabora or OnlyOffice
Calendar and contacts via CalDAV/CardDAV
Video conferencing and chat
Photo backup with face and object recognition
Email client, notes, kanban boards, forms, and hundreds more apps through the app store
Hardware requirements are surprisingly modest. For 1-5 users, a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4GB RAM and an SSD works perfectly. An old laptop from 2015 or later is another excellent option. A VPS for a few dollars per month is ideal for those who prefer not to keep hardware at home.
Installation via Docker Compose or Nextcloud AIO takes 15-30 minutes. Desktop and mobile clients provide automatic sync like Dropbox. Calendar and contacts sync without Google or Apple.
Self-hosted means self-responsibility: strong passwords, two-factor authentication, SSL certificates, regular updates, backups, and firewall configuration. But the reward is priceless: certainty that your data is truly yours.
Nextcloud in 2026 is mature, stable, and feature-rich. It does not fall short of Google Drive in functionality. In privacy and control, it surpasses it by orders of magnitude.
Start with Nextcloud AIO on an inexpensive VPS. In one or two hours, you will have a fully functional cloud storage system open only to you. This is one of the most important steps toward digital independence.
