I see why people may want to auto purge posts on Mastodon but that is unfair to people who reply or quote post, which leaves orphan replies and interactions with no context. It also leaves database entries and media that may come with interactions on servers.
I think one option to be fair would be to create a post setting that marks a post with an icon or something warning people that it is subject to auto purging, giving people advance notice who then can decide to interact or not
Post not made with the auto purge option can still be deleted but must be deleted manually.
It would be great if manually deleted posts had a user panel that users could see and then manage their orphaned interactions.

Anyone else's #VSCodium #Python Intellisense suddenly stop working? It got so finicky just recently 😅 according to online, apparently Microsoft's Python extension doesn't play well outside VSCode.
Anyway, for those wondering, it seems like the "BasedPyright" extension works fine for me. Just follow the install instructions on their docs website, set its import strategy setting to "useBundled" so it doesn't rely on Microsoft's extension. Has a bunch of other type hint features too.

The average annual economic growth rate of the U.S. from 1960 to 2008 or over 48 year period was 3.3%, however, in the 17 years from 2008 to 2025, the average annual economic growth rate of the U.S. is only 2.1% meaning after the 2008 global financial crisis the U.S. has not recovered to pre-2008 levels.
Previously any economic shock the U.S. would experience, it would recover to it's original growth levels within 2-3 years. The actions of the U.S. administration is worsening the situation #USA

Ich bin momentan echt in Versuchung, nicht nur einen "Entwicklungs Blog" auf Basis von PureBlog(https://pureblog.org/) aufzusetzen für mein Entwicklungs Projekt mit Kirby(https://quasselkopf.de/@kranzkrone/116234113937376405), sondern auch meinen bisherigen Blog dadurch zu ersetzen um zumindest bis zur Fertigstellung des besagten Kirby-Projekt wieder einen Ort zum niederschreiben sowie publizieren meiner Gedanken zu haben. 🙄😅😉
PureBlog und GetKirby sind beides CMS im Stil von FlatFile, somit in der Funktionsweise auf der gleiche Ebene, lediglich in dessen Verwaltung und Umfang sehr unterschiedlich. 😃
Da ich seit einer Weile schon Mastodon als zeitweise Ersatz zum bloggen nutze, könnte PureBlog eine sinnvolle Ergänzung dazu sein. 🤔
Vielleicht sollte ich den Feiertag des 1. Mai für eine Entscheidung in dieser Sache nutzen. 😁
