An interesting perspective on photo taking. At first, I felt ancient because most of my life I haven't carried the internet in my pocket. The concept of taking photos primarily to share them online is alien to me. But then I realized I still often don't carry the internet in my pocket, so maybe it's not the era that forms the attitude but the personality. But then again, one influences the other.

We became colleagues in 2009, I was 12 years old and very lost and scared. This is how Bebe Vio remembers her encounter with Alex Zanardi, the champion who passed away today at the age of 59. The Bolognese pilot, who later became a dominant force in handbike racing and a legend of Paralympic sport, has inspired thousands of athletes around the world. But on the day of his death, Bebe Vio revealed in a message on her Instagram profile that Zanardi’s words were decisive, even for her career, which led her to become a fencer and Paralympic champion.
“You gave me the strength to start over, convincing me that with or without legs, I could do everything,” recalls Bebe Vio, posting photos alongside Zanardi during their Paralympic adventures. “At London 2012 you introduced me to the beauty of the Paralympics and the enormous power they have to change the perception and culture of disability. At Rio 2016 you were my guide in the Paralympic village and then we realized the dream together. At Tokyo 2020 you weren’t there, but you were a beacon for all of us.”
Today, the entire Italian sports world is mourning the loss of its champion, capable – as President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella put it – of being “a reference point beyond the world of sport.” Bebe Vio concludes: “It was an honor and a great privilege to have you as my sports and life tutor.”

We have #ransomware, #AI driving #phishing and #scams abound, #bitcoin being almost all for illicit use cases, #SocialMedia turned to #addictive drugs, #email turned work communications to an endless deluge, and more. What the public discourse lacks is consideration of working to reduce our uses of #DigitalMedia and #software. I believe in the power of software. Given the current directions, some things just worked better without computers involved. We still have the #power to #change that.

I've tested Gnome and is really nice but needs some features to be polished.
Gentoo is very solid and one of the only ones to have an excellent risc-v support.

For some reason I can't get movement with analog sticks to feel right. If I always keep max speed it's hard to control, if it's based on analog tilt the animations break. I even tried limiting movement to 8 directions but it still feels weird.
