For me, the hardest part of #drawing is not drawing, it's finding a proper place for publishing it because, as it turns out, the #Fediverse is not such a place, given the public's reaction I've observed in my attempts on publishing to Fediverse and the explicit discrepancies of "engagement" (I deeply hate this word because it reminds of mainstream social media platforms, but it's the closest I can use to what I intend to describe) between my deliberately tabooesque (Lilith) #occult #art, my more "family-friendly" occult (#owls) art and the Fediverse's socially-sanctioned special interests (e.g. sci-fi) art: this list is sorted by increasing "social connection", with the latter having had the most of it because it's the kind of thing that people around here are ready to talk about...
Not even my owl art got the same "social connection", and I say this as my earlier "family-friendly", owl-related art completed two weeks sitting there on Lemmy's /c/artshare community with the only reply (seemingly from a troll, given their modlog) totally unrelated to the thread.
So far, I have 21 hours (almost a whole day) worth of screen recording of me drawing, with the video files adding up to 16 GiB. I don't even know why I did such recordings (trying to prove human authorship, trying to prove I'm not a fucking AI, trying to prove myself for social acceptance and this deeply sucks) because people don't seem to care, they don't seem to care about the deeper symbolism and meanings underneath my art, the drawing techniques I use, the "behind the scenes"... At best, one or two people commented something about the techniques and/or symbolism in my art, and it was pretty much everything that has happened...
I don't know why I keep trying to speak a language forgotten for so long that nobody seems to understand nowadays. 😓
