Some of my highlight include
- I wrote the entire train driver licencing management system for all of Great Britain, on my own, in a few weeks, with a completely unfamiliar stack
- Successfully defended the aforementioned project directly to the cabinet office when they blocked it and allowed it to continue to be deployed
- Once built a 64 bit computer in vanilla Java Minecraft (no command blocks)
- Worked on nuclear, medical, and autonomous driving systems, cannot talk about this too much, but this does mean I can absolutely talk your ear off about the importance of strict vigilance in software engineering

One last change before the RC for 26.4.0: Catodon now handles ActivityPub Articles and Pages properly, rendering html and all, instead of turning them all into Notes and showing them as a CW with the summary as comment, which tbf was pretty ugly. Gatti che si picchiano, oppure che si lasciano al termine di una storia d’amore. E poi altri, ancora, che prima rubano un vestito, poi vengono malmenati e, alla fine, diventano ricchi. Una tendenza virale sta arrivando anche su Tiktok dopo aver già invaso piattaforme cinesi come Douyin. Si tratta di micro-drammi fatti con l’intelligenza artificiale che hanno come protagonisti animali parlanti, per lo più gatti.
Le storie sono le più disparate, non sempre educative, va detto. Eppure i video sono visti da tantissimi utenti. Oltre ai drama, infatti, il pubblico può trovare storie dai colpi di scena continui e dal ritmo elevato. Spesso il racconto dura meno di un minuto oppure poco di più.
Nate in Cina, appunto, oggi sono arrivate a fare breccia anche tra il pubblico di Tiktok. Piacciono perché colpiscono utilizzando animali domestici che però vivono spesso situazioni assurde.
A crearli sono singoli creatori o piccoli team che utilizzano strumenti dell’intelligenza artificiale accessibili e poco costosi. Come riportano i media cinesi, bastano pochi euro al mese per poter accedere a software che generano contenuti simili. Poi si tratta di lavorarli in post-produzione.
Il fenomeno è così sviluppato in Cina che alcuni creator hanno creato vere e proprie serie, arrivando a monetizzare sui contenuti prodotti e a costruirci quasi un lavoro. Le possibilità sono così elevate che anche alcuni brand hanno iniziato a interessarsi al fenomeno, inserendosi nella narrazione o creando loro stessi contenuti.

Cats that beat each other up, or that leave a love story. And then others, still, who first steal a dress, then get mistreated, and in the end, become rich. A viral trend is also arriving on TikTok after already invading Chinese platforms like Douyin. It’s about micro-dramas made with artificial intelligence that feature talking animals, mostly cats.
The stories are the most diverse, not always educational, it must be said. Yet the videos are viewed by many users. In addition to the drama, the audience can find stories with continuous twists and turns and a fast pace. Often the story lasts less than a minute or a little more.
Born in China, indeed, they have now also broken into the TikTok audience. They are liked because they hit on domestic animals that often live in absurd situations.
They are created by individual creators or small teams that use accessible and inexpensive AI tools. As Chinese media report, it only takes a few euros a month to access software that generates similar content. Then it's a matter of working them in post-production.
The phenomenon is so developed in China that some creators have created entire series, reaching the point of monetizing the content produced and building almost a job around it. The possibilities are so high that some brands have also started to take an interest in the phenomenon, inserting themselves into the narrative or creating their own content.
