Looks like we're living through the final boss battle of the K-shaped economy. On the top arm we've got warmongers, oil addicts, LLM (and general techbro) conmen, genociders, paedophiles, religious fundamentalists and generally the very worst people.
On the bottom, what do we have? Environmentalists, journalists, people interested in community, justice and a fair transition. Oh, and the Fediverse. Just general, all round, decent people.
I think it may come as a shock to the people on the upper arm that their magic growth formula is about to run out of steam.
Things are not going to be nice for anyone living through this, but at least I'm hopeful that we, the underclass will prevail and that we'll end up with much more suitable and compassionate systems on the other side.
We have friends everywhere.

Es gibt Monate, die sich nach Technik anfühlen. Der April gehört nicht dazu. Der April ist ein Monat der Resilienz. Ein Monat, in dem es nicht darum geht, das nächste Tool zu testen oder den hundertsten Workflow zu optimieren, sondern darum, eine Frage zu beantworten, die wir alle viel zu lange vor uns herschieben: Was passiert eigentlich, wenn plötzlich alles weg ist?
Diese Frage stellt sich niemand gerne. Sie ist unangenehm. Sie riecht nach Paranoia, nach dem Gefühl, man müsste sich auf Katastrophen vorbereiten, die wahrscheinlich nie eintreten werden. Aber dann gibt es diese Momente. Der Laptop startet eines Morgens einfach nicht mehr. Das Smartphone rutscht aus der Tasche und ist weg, vielleicht im Zug, vielleicht auf der Straße, vielleicht für immer. Ein Wasserschaden in der Wohnung macht nicht nur Möbel unbrauchbar, sondern auch das Gerät, auf dem alles war. Oder es trifft einen ganz anders: Diese eine Schadsoftware, die sich einschleicht und plötzlich jedes angeschlossene Laufwerk verschlüsselt, als wäre jemand gekommen und hätte einen Schlüssel herumgedreht, den nur er besitzt.
