It's just occurred to me how strange it is, that when someone follows you and you get a notification, the *one* other piece of information included is how many followers they have.
That's interesting, I suppose, but why not include how old their account is, or how many people they're following? Are they new? Are they following *me*, or do they follow everyone?
Even the account summary popup only contains the follower count datum
Can we not escape the pull of the popularity contest?

Больно ли переходить из Telegram в МАКС?
Ситуация с Telegram в России сейчас непростая. Замедления, нестабильность, непонятно, что будет дальше. У нашего вишлист бота в Telegram было около 70 тысяч пользователей, поэтому любые проблемы с ТГ для нас — это экзистенциальный риск (как модно нынче говорить) для всего продукта. Сразу скажу, вся команда крайне негативно относится к замедлению ТГ, для ИТ инфраструктуры в РФ это создает огромные необоснованные сложности. Мы рассматривали разные варианты решения проблемы: идти в веб, идти за рубеж, подождать. В итоге выбрали идти за пользователем. Решили сделать бота в Max. Внутри команды, были сомнения. Не было уверенности, что там вообще есть аудитория, и нашим ботом будут пользоваться. Плюс технические ограничения, отдельный аккаунт разработчика через юрлицо, ресурсы на разработку, аналитику и т.д. С разработкой всё оказалось проще, чем ожидали. Архитектура и подходы во многом похожи на Telegram. Сделали и запустили клона основного бота в МАКС примерно за месяц, к концу марта. В начале года Telegram давал нам 300–400 новых пользователей в день. К концу марта это уже было 100–200, а к апрелю — 60–120 в день. Бот в МАКС начал расти. Сначала это были единичные установки. Потом десятки. К апрелю — уже 80–130 новых пользователей в день. И примерно через месяц после запуска Max начал регулярно обгонять Telegram по притоку. Затраты на рекламу мы не меняли, чуть перестроили рекламные компании, изменили главную страницу сайта. За 7 недель Max вырос с нуля до 2,700 пользователей. Для сравнения, Telegram в своё время шёл к этим цифрам около трёх месяцев. Мы отдельно смотрели на переход пользователей. Прямого пересечения по ID нет — разные системы авторизации. Но по меткам видно, что как минимум 350+ пользователей пришли в Max из Telegram. Это не массовая миграция, но понятный сигнал, что канал работает. По качеству аудитории есть интересные наблюдения. В Max доля пользователей, которые создают вишлисты, даже немного выше — около 31% против 28% в Telegram. При этом сами списки пока короче: в среднем 4–5 желаний против почти 6 в Telegram. Отдельно выделяется активность. В Max около 23% пользователей активны за последние 7 дней. В Telegram этот показатель на всей базе кратно ниже — там уже большая накопленная аудитория и естественное «размытие» активности. Сами пользователи при этом практически те же — русскоязычная аудитория, те же имена, те же сценарии использования. Главное, что мы для себя поняли: Max — это не замена Telegram, но это уже рабочий канал. Там есть аудитория, и она готова пользоваться сервисами. Если у вас продукт завязан на Telegram в России, игнорировать Max сейчас не выглядит разумным решением. Да, мы упали в ежемесячном приросте аудитории, но падение было бы убийственным, если бы мы не приняли правильного решения о создании нового бота. Тут ключевую роль сыграла визионерские навыки Продакта и CEO. Мы не знаем, что будет дальше. Рассмотрим математическую базу: производные первого и второго порядка, градиент, дискретный Лапласиан. Как из аппроксимации производных получаются операторы — Робертса, Прюитта, Собеля, Лапласа. Разберем детектор Канни по шагам: сглаживание Гаусса, поиск градиентов, подавление не-максимумов, двойная пороговая фильтрация. Отдельно — адаптивный фильтр Уоллеса для автоматического подбора порога.
