I was bad... so damn bad! I went against my own principles! Out of curiosity, I broke my sacred vow NEVER to use something like artificial intelligence. Especially not for meaningless stuff, like most people use it for.
But then... I was looking for a new profile picture for myself.... and then... I got curious to see if all this artificial intelligence hype had any substance... if this AI is really as good in certain areas as many claim... so I tried out an image AI for the first time... and this is what came out: me as a UNIX Viking... I’m ashamed! So, judge me for my weakness!
But on the other hand: it does kind of look cool, doesn’t it?

TypeScript в Next.js как система контрактов, а не типизация ради типизации
Когда разработчик начинает писать на Next.js с TypeScript, первая реакция часто довольно холодная. Вместо того чтобы двигаться быстрее, он начинает чаще видеть ошибки. Где-то не совпал shape объекта, где-то строка не подходит в более узкий тип, где-то TypeScript напоминает, что значение может быть undefined. На этом месте легко сделать неправильный вывод. Кажется, что TS просто добавляет трение и требует больше служебного кода. Обычно проблема не в TypeScript, а в способе мышления. Если использовать его как набор аннотаций поверх уже написанного кода, пользы действительно немного. Но если смотреть на типы как на систему контрактов между слоями приложения, картина меняется. Особенно в Next.js App Router, где у нас постоянно есть границы server и client, внешний ввод из URL, формы, мутации и разные состояния интерфейса. В этот момент TypeScript перестаёт быть типизацией ради типизации. Он начинает отвечать на более важный вопрос: какие состояния в проекте вообще допустимы, а какие не должны пройти дальше границы. По такой модели я выстроил один из своих проектов Workbench. Не начинать с мысли давайте везде поставим типы, а начинать с мысли где у нас проходит граница, что в неё входит и что из неё может выйти. После этого многие решения в коде становятся почти очевидными.

Последние несколько лет я усиленно увлекаюсь любительской видеореставрацией: беру старые мультики, прогоняю их через большие пайплайны цифровой обработки, зачастую работаю с аудио и по итогу всё это собираю в MKV-контейнеры. От «Чипа и Дейла» эпохи старого Диснея до чистой цифры в виде «Врат Штейна». Казалось бы: «Обложка да обложка, какая разница? Главное — видео и звук!» Но вы крупно недооцениваете мою любовь к перфекционизму. Проблема была даже не в том, что обложек нет, а в том, что ими почти никто не занимается. Ни корпорации-издатели, ни даже базы от энтузиастов вроде TheTvDB зачастую почти не уделяют нормального внимания стародавним релизам, из-за чего лично у меня возникает странный контраст: на диске лежит моя отреставрированная классика в 4К, а медиа-сервер подтягивает размытый скриншот серии с VHS-кассеты начала 2000-х. А иногда та же практика применяется и к новым релизам 0_0 Ужас ведь. В этой статье я хочу показать свой путь проб и ошибок — от примитивных «ИИ-фильтров» на «Чип и Дейле» и автоматических скриптов для «Розовой пантеры» до освоения цветокоррекции и ручной реставрации на куче обложек для «Тома и Джерри», а затем — до сложного и зачастую ещё более муторного симбиоза ИИ-генерации и ручной доводки при создании уникальных постеров для «Врат Штейна» и других сериалов.

By the way: Forte doesn't require a gateway to communicate with non-nomadic ActivityPub. A fully cloned Forte channel can communicate with a Mastodon account without jumping through hoops. Remember that Forte has almost fully-featured Hubzilla-level nomadic identity (i.e. everything except real-time syncing between channel instances; unlike Hubzilla and (streams) which do sync in real time, it needs a cronjob for that) directly built into its core.
(streams) does support nomadic identity via ActivityPub. But internally, it uses and relies upon Nomad for its nomadic identity. It only supports nomadic identity via ActivityPub a) because it was used as a development platform for just this and b) in order to be able to understand cloned nomadic ActivityPub actors elsewhere. This is also why it isn't possible to move from (streams) to Forte, to move from Forte to (streams) or to clone between (streams) and Forte.
(streams) itself doesn't require gateways to communicate with Mastodon & Co. either. It speaks three protocols natively: its own Nomad, Hubzilla's Zot6 and (optionally, but on by default) standard ActivityPub.

I got a question about #peertube .
Peertube has this great p2p feature, meaning that while you are watching a video, specifically with the web interface on the server
(no one download the torrent file to watch a video), you are seeding/contributing bandwidth to servers.
The more, the better, less managing cost
But in a decentered world, is unlikely an old documentary on art history, is watched by two or more people in the same time.
And If you close the browser, your help is gone, you can't always have 20 tabs of a desktop browser opened.
Is there a desktop client that allow forever seed, like in torrent/*mule ?
I'm not a video creator, should I self-host a dedicated instance, just for seeding’s sake ?

I think I need to make "Friends" an active decision. Not just a mutual follow. I still wan't to be able to be "Friends" with another ActivityPub user - not only Fedebook.
Option 1 - Mark as friend / two feeds
Enable the user to make a mutual follow as friend. This will enable the user to post stuff to real Friends and then introduce a new feed page. The Home feed for friends and groups and a new for the follows feed. What would a good name be? News, The Fediverse, The world_
Option 2 - No follows only friends
Remote the follows concept all together. Users must jump to Mastodon or other to follow the rest of the world.
I'm leaning towards option 1. I still like to be able for a user to share someting from The world with friends.
What do you think - I like to be inspirred!

Fedibook is an attempt to build the missing link in the fediverse to connect with friends and community. With a strong focus on making a welcoming fealing to someone about to jump from Facebook.
In it's current stage Fedibook works with three element, Friends, Follow and groups. Let's leave group for now (more about groups). Follows are any ActivityPub account that you choose to follow. Friends are ActivityPub account that you follow and also follow you back.
It works but now when using it I noticed that what I build is another interface for Mastodon. I actually like it. Having comments under the original post feal better for me. BUT I never ment to build another Mastodon and what I now have in my Fedibook Home feed, is not the old school Facebook connecting with friends but the heated flow of the word gone mad (which it is).
I need to fix this - but I like to hear your feedback.
