@itsfoss That there are ways to run EVERYTHING you need and not use Windows as your primary desktop OS. I finally made the switch over to Linux both for work and at-home use several years ago.
For work, there are a few programs that only exist for Windows - for that I run QEMU/KVM and run Windows in a virtual machine. So I guess technically I still have to use Windows, but for 99% of my working day, I am using Linux. For home life? 100% Linux!

Largest Dutch pension fund cuts ties with controversial tech firm Palantir
ABP, the Netherlands’ largest pension fund, has withdrawn from the controversial AI company Palantir, the Financieele Dagblad reported. Palantir is known to provide services to the American immigration service, ICE, and the Israeli army.
Six months ago, ABP still held €825 million in investments in Palantir. The pension fund for civil servants in the Netherlands has sold those shares, according to FD.
Palantir is globally renowned for its advanced AI data analysis software, which can combine colossal amounts of seemingly unrelated data such as online communications, DNA, fingerprints, financial transactions, travel records, contacts, and surveillance footage. The software is used by hundreds of intelligence and investigative services worldwide to track down all kinds of suspects. Amnesty International has warned multiple times that the use of Palintir’s software violates human rights.

How to use wa-radio-group with Vue
Previously, we went over how to use wa-card, wa-grid, wa-dropdown, and wa-relative-time. The next post in the Web Awesome/Vue series will be about the wa-radio-group component. This could be useful for wiring up a web form or for writing the interface for a results listing (like the “Buy Now,” “Make an Offer,” or “Auction” interface on eBay). Let’s see what is possible with Web Awesome.
For our first, let’s look at the simplest possible example. There is a horizontal radio button group, a vertical radio button group, colorOptions and foodOptions arrays to control what the radio button groups consist of, and ref objects for selectedColor and selectedFood.

You will notice, though, that Vue variables for defining the options and what is selected are fine, but the value for what is selected doesn’t change when you change what is selected. So, how can you do that?

I am writing a blog post on open standards divergence and increasing unattractiveness of an ecosystem that hems itself into a straitjacket of narrow application areas, by the protocol decay we allow to fester. Combined with inadequate work methods to reconcile the tech debt that this incurs. We must go "back to standards" or have an ecosystem based on enabling technologies that are increasingly unattractive to adopt.

The Mastodon-compatible API is at a stable stopping point, so I have removed the gating with_mastodon_api build flag and made it generally available.
I use the API daily via a couple different client apps. What works, works. There are known limitations, most of them rooted in architectural differences between Mastodon and Ktistec. For example, Mastodon and Ktistec manage media differently. In Ktistec, there is no simple way to upload and manage media apart from creating a post. That difference will take some work to bridge.

The next release will focus on cleaning up the internals. Ktistec is just under 100,000 lines of code, 307 source files, and 195 spec files (7030 tests). With one maintainer, the only way to stay sane is by ruthlessly refactoring and paying down the debt!

I use WASM to integrate software solutions across different stacks. For example, I compile a Twofish cipher implementation from C to WASM and use it in the browser. It’s cheap and prevents reinventing the wheel.
However, WASM has limitations: no threads, no hardware acceleration, etc.
What other real-world use cases can you imagine?
