#Iran burde vært presset på demokratiske verdier, prinsipper og #menneskerettigheter. Land som respekterer disse vil ikke angripe andre og ikke undertrykke sitt eget folk. Men Trump selv anerkjenner jo heller ikke disse.

Improving external comment privacy without relying on unpubished comments
Since my blog is public, I had not really considered how I would respond or handle quiet or followers-only replies to my posts. So far I leave these comments as “unpublished”. In my comment administrative view, I have an extra column that checks whether an internal field has been marked private, which happens when I process incoming activities.
But this means that I cannot reply to those posts without exposing them to greater world (i.e. anonymous users). And this makes me feel bad.
Anyway to change Drupal’s behavior, I need to delve into both into entity access. Unfortunately I cannot solve...

Beim letzten Wochenrückblick vom 29. März ging es neben der Fortsetzung des Mailumstiegs von Google/Microsoft auch um die gekonnten Unabhängigkeitsbestrebungen der Nordamerikaner bei ihren ach so gefährlichen Routern.
Der Heise-Verlag hat das unter der Überschrift „Das US-Routerverbot und seine durchsichtige Begründung“ nochmal sehr schön aufgedröselt, lesenswert! Vor allem, was sie alles tun, um unabhängig zu sein. Da sind wir ganz und gar anders, wir liefern uns lieber stillschweigend komplett aus.
„Unabhängigkeit von Trump und Co.? Unbezahlbar!“ heißt eine Kampagne bei WEACT. Diesmal geht es nicht um den ganz normalen Datenraub, sondern konkret um unser Geld! Denn wer hätte das gedacht, Visa, Mastercard oder Paypal sind nordamerikanische Unternehmen, die allein durch unser Zahlungsverhalten mehr über uns wissen, als die Schufa. Aber nicht nur das: an jeder Transaktion verdienen sie mit. Weil das ein einträgliches Geschäft ist, greifen auch Google oder Apple in diesen Dienstleistungsmarkt für Finanzprodukte mit rein. Ganz nebenbei lassen sich diese Daten gewinnbringend für ganz andere Zwecke nutzen. Und weil die US-Behörden mit dem Cloud-Act jederzeit darauf zugreifen dürfen, ist der Sprung zu Palantir nicht wirklich weit.
Erinnert sich noch jemand an den Anfang der Sanktionen gegen Russland? Wurden die nicht vom internationalen Zahlungssystemen ausgeschlossen? Sie konnten sich helfen, sie waren weniger auf Dienstleister der Vereinigten Staaten angewiesen. Bei der Gelegenheit dürfte uns die Luft ausgehen, ob technische Fehler die Rechenzentren abkoppeln oder vielleicht ein Cyberangriff den Zahlungsverkehr lähmt, sind Varianten, morgen mit einer nutzlosen Plastikkarte an der Tankstelle zu stehen. Was passiert, wenn Trump mal wieder eine Drohung ausstößt und uns Europa ein paar Tage/Wochen zahlungsunfähig machen möchte? Wir stehen in allen Fällen im Regen.
Die Aktion von WEACT greift diese Szenarien auf, fordert von Bundesregierung/Europaparlament umzudenken und sammelt Unterschriften, hier nochmal. Auch wenn es nicht sofort greift, scheint es von Bedeutung, diese Gefahr zu kennen – also lieber die EC-Karte zücken oder Wero , anstatt Paypal wo immer es geht zu bevorzugen. (Bargeld geht natürlich auch…)
Unabhängigkeit ist nicht immer einfach, zumindest müssen Alternativen geschaffen und breit genutzt werden – und da wären wir bei dem, was wir selbst machen können: Mail/Kalender/Adressbuch wieder unter eigene Kontrolle zu bringen. Damit geht es am Sonntag weiter, der Digitale Wochenrückblick vom 5. April trägt den Zusatz „Showdown“ – und es ist wieder der erste Sonntag im Monat, also di.day – das steht für Digital Independence Day!

I'm currently finishing my work on the Polls For #ActivityPub plugin.
I decided to use a custom post type for polls. However, many people mentioned that they would like to also add polls to normal posts.
My first question is: what is the best workflow/UI for the block-editor when adding a new poll block to a normal post?
I started with an empty state: "Create new Poll, Embed existing poll". Here I was wondering, whether I should directly enforce the user to create a poll which is stored as a draft when choosing "Create new poll", or keeping all data local to the post until the post is saved/published.
And should I allow the user to edit an embedded poll inline? Or should I just link to the edit link of the poll directly, once it's created? And how many warnings about such relationships do users expect? When deleting a poll that might be embedded. Isn't it similar to media? What are your wishes?!
