Make no mistake: Maine’s annual moose hunting permits, or tags, are a precious, highly sought-after commodity. So it follows that how they are distributed, and the system that selects the lucky recipients, gets a lot of attention.
Maine residents are fortunate. About 90% of the more than 3,000 moose permits are allocated to individual resident applicants. The remaining 10% are earmarked for nonresident applicants, with roughly 2% of that block set aside for qualified Maine hunting lodges and outfitters.
Last year, 82 “lodge tags” were available. This year, there will be 74. Eligible lodges and outfitters apply for these tags through their own lottery process.
The concept of setting aside tags for lodges and outfitters dates back about a decade, when northern Maine’s deer population declined and many outfitters struggled financially. The goal was to help them regain economic footing.
Some outfitters, however, began monetizing those tags, selling them to clients for prices exceeding $30,000.
For reasons that have not been fully explained, the lodge tag process expanded beyond its original intent. Restaurants, hotels and even a nudist colony in southern Maine reportedly applied for and received a lodge tag...

Fairlinked's "BrowserGate" report alleges that LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, scans visitors' browsers for installed extensions and tools without disclosure, including competitor sales products and job-search add-ons. The report says the results are sent to LinkedIn and third parties, potentially exposing sensitive traits and revealing which companies use rival products. It also claims the scan list grew from about 461 products in 2024 to more than 6,000 by February 2026, and that the activity is not described in LinkedIn's privacy policy.

Ich bin mit meinem #Bluesky Account, nun vollständig weg von den US-amerikanischen Servern und #bogtechusa hin zum europäischen Server von LeafPlaza gezogen, der allerdings an Bluesky angeschlossen ist. LeafPlaza verfügt über eine eigene App, die sich allerdings genauso bedient wie jene von Bluesky. eine Umgewöhnung ist daher nicht notwendig.
Einziger Wermutstropfen ist, dass es aktuell noch kein Web-frontend gibt. Die Bedienung des sozialen Netzwerkes erfolgt also momentan ausschließlich über die App.
Sowohl das Web-Frontend, als auch eine iPad-Version sollen allerdings bald folgen. Da bin ich gespannt, wer schneller ist mit der iPad-App. Bluesky oder LeafPlaza …

Сначала это выглядело как очередная волна блокировок, однако характер симптомов быстро показал: дело не в классической фильтрации по IP или доменам.
