“In the days after the strike, the charisma of AI organised the entire political conversation around the technology: whether Claude hallucinated, whether the model was aligned, whether Anthropic bore responsibility for its deployment. The constitutional question of who authorised this war and the legal question of whether this strike constitutes a war crime were displaced by a technical question that is easier to ask and impossible to answer in the terms it set. The Claude debate absorbed the energy. That is what charisma does.
It has also occluded something deeper: the human decisions that led to the killing of between 175 and 180 people, most of them girls between the ages of seven and 12. Someone decided to compress the kill chain. Someone decided that deliberation was latency. Someone decided to build a system that produces 1,000 targeting decisions an hour and call them high-quality. Someone decided to start this war. Several hundred people are sitting on Capitol Hill, refusing to stop it. Calling it an “AI problem” gives those decisions, and those people, a place to hide.“

Una fragola prende un caffè in un bar con una mela e si prepara a un incontro “galante” con uno spasimante, conosciuto su una app di incontri. Il “tipo figo” è una banana, i due si vedono a cena, si conoscono, fino a quando il signor banana non tira fuori il telefono e le mostra un video: l’europarlamentare Melanzanis chiede di “abolire le carceri” e di “liberare i criminali”. Fragolita non ci sta e si arrabbia. Fine.
Una telenovela? Una storia di invenzione di un bambino? No. È l’ultimo video, realizzato (con tanto di accenti sbagliati) con l’intelligenza artificiale, pubblicato dall’account ufficiale della Lega su Tiktok. I riferimenti della clip sono facilmente riconoscibili: Fragolita è un’elettrice della Lega mentre Melanzanis è Ilaria Salis, eurodeputata eletta con Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra.
Sotto al video la didascalia: “E se vi capitasse un date come quello che ha avuto fragolita?”.
Il post, come prevedibile, ha raccolto decine di commenti, soprattutto ironici. “Secondo me l’admin è più di sinistra di tutti fa il doppio gioco”, commenta qualcuno. “E pretendete di esser presi sul serio?”, osserva qualcun altro. E, ancora, “che bello sapere che l’Italia è nelle mani di gente competente”.

A strawberry orders coffee in a bar with an apple and prepares for a “charming” meeting with a suitor, met on a dating app. The “cool guy” is a banana, and the two have dinner together, getting to know each other until the Mr. Banana pulls out his phone and shows her a video: MEP Melanzanis (Melanzanis) asks to “abolish prisons” and “free criminals.” Little Strawberry doesn’t agree and gets angry. The end.
A telenovela? A child’s invention story? No. It’s the last video, made (with plenty of mispronounced accents) with artificial intelligence, published by the official Lega account on TikTok. The references in the clip are easily recognizable: Fragolita is a voter for the Lega while Melanzanis is Ilaria Salis, MEP elected with Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra.
Under the video the caption reads: “What if you had a date like the one Strawberry had?”
The post, as expected, gathered dozens of comments, mostly ironic. “I think the admin is more left-wing than everyone else and is playing a double game,” someone comments. “And you expect to be taken seriously?” observes someone else. And still, “It’s wonderful to know that Italy is in the hands of competent people.”

Is there really no easy way to upload videos and create reels on an iPhone? The Impressia app and the Pixelfed app do not support videos at all. I can upload videos via the phone browser, but the proprietary iOS video format is not supported there neither. And even if I converted a video to a supported format and managed to share it, the preview is just a blurry image. It sucks. I also tried to upload GIFs, but somehow they are displayed as static images. Do I really need a different app and network like Loops if I want to share and consume video content?
