Much better. Now that it’s wired up, I’m a little worried that eight ports might not have been enough. But for now it’s ok. I’ll add a #RaspberryPi soon for #PiHole and some other small services. At some point I’m sure I’ll replace this with a 16 port multi gig switch that supports link aggregation to the router upstream, but that’s not necessary for a while. I have a workshop and a massive bookcase to build first.

I stopped using Raspberry Pi's ever since the RPi Foundation went cray-cray. The last one in service was my Home Assistant controller. It's started hanging, and rather than troubleshoot (who the hell knows where my mini-HDMI cable is), I think it's time to migrate.

not ask for an eli5 from the advanced tech user website, but how viable is it to replace your mobile phone with a raspberry pi unit? like is there a way to replicate the most vital functionalities of a phone (emergency calling, texting and calling, internet access) with a pi? i know some portability will have to be sacrificed but other than that idk much about pis. theyre cool and i want to know more but real information is so hard to find these days

Schön. Raspberry nach Update abgeschmiert. Bootet nicht mehr. Zum Anlass genommen auf Trixie neu aufzubauen. Jetzt ist alles schön sauber. Das wichtigste läuft wieder. Das Hardening muss ich noch nachholen. Fail2ban mit Honeypot ist ein muss. Da sieht man wie viele "Anfragen" an die verschiedenen Ports kommen. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

I finally made a v2 version of my DIY mesh IoT project (no internet connectivity at all) to monitor the air quality at home
(This is a WiFi mesh, not a long range one)

Ich möchte dem Nachwuchs auf Basis eines #raspberrypi einen #musik / #hörspiele - Player mit Tochdisplay machen. Hat da jemand Erfahrung bzw. Tipps dazu?
Über eine #hackybox traue ich mich nicht wirklich drüber. Ein #Hörbert wäre auch super, aber die 11 Knöpfe sind mir etwas zu limitierend (da sind wir einfach zu spät dran).
Und zusätzliche Kreativ Tonies kaufen nur damit man weniger oft neu bespielen und bebilderten muss, finde ich auch nicht gut.
