I need a dollar kernel!

I just upgraded a Raspberry PI 1b with Raspbian from Bookworm to Trixie.
Everything went fine except that I don't know what's the correct way to get a recent kernel.

There are packages linux-image-rpi-v6 and linux-image-rpi-v7 available (from http://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian).

On the net, many people seem to have raspberrypi-kernel but on my system no such package exist.

Do I want to use rpi-update to install a kernel seperately from the package manager?

For reference, used sources:

deb http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/ trixie main rpi
deb http://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/ trixie main

The system is still fine and boots a 6.1.21 kernel from /boot/firmware/... but I don't have a corresponding package installed anymore :(.

Anyone built their own Nas storage from #raspberrypi and a couple of HDD? Thinking any moving away from Google cloud storage for photo backups. Anyone recommend a setup?

Came across this self-made speech to text transcriber on the deaf sub reddit. I would love to have this for live conversations. I do not need one for the phone.

While my Speaksee (currently not working due to software issues) is great, it is expensive, and I depend on state funding (for work only) to use it.

If someone in the Netherlands with Raspberry Pi skills wants to make one I want to pay for it 😀

(I assume Dutch transcribing is possible too)

A big thank you to all of those who have contributed to making what it is today.

We are really enjoying worlds created from base game.

A number of our current games are hosted on our LAN by a Raspberry Pi 5 with 16GB of RAM, running in an case with an SSD. It is fast enough for this purpose.

What we do is private and stays within our LAN. Our activities are not recorded by any of the big US Tech companies thus cannot be saved for future misuse.
