the solution is decentralization. please push that. having one site dominate and then decide what to promote with their algo, allow to be posted and/or paid will always be a problem. forget rightwing content, consider news about Gaza being contested by Israel. such a video platform is a natural monopoly like the internet. decentralize it and let the people decide what goes viral. let servers and app makers decide moderation etc.

#peertube exists. but so does #Rumble
we need all the people possibly impacted by what we saw this week happening again, to come together to build the ecosystem around peertube. if the billionaires etc can create Rumble, we should be able to do it with a decentralized alternative that would help everybody. but I'd say that re X and Substack too and we haven't seen it. they have the money and attention that developers here lack.
we also need #WebMonetization.
