After another sleepless night of pain the old man drags his breathless lifeless corpse out of a sunken bed of jagged hellish rock, unable to see and incredibly foggy minded, as the classical music plays he drags himself off to prepare his coffee, as his hands tremble he pours in the water and measures the scoops of grind, fumbling he manages to plug in the percolator, as the coffee begins to perc, he shuffles off to the toilet his bowels bellow out in hungerous pain, in the mirror a confused tired old man stares into the abyss, his hair and beard greasy and disheveled, he disrobes and steps into the shower, the water nearly boiling hot offers no refreshing, struggling he brushes his teeth, washes his hair and beard, struggling to hold the soap in his weakened hands he manages to wash his non-limber body, it is a fight of will to become clean today, he shuts off the water and grabs the towel as he dries himself off he finds he is even more exhausted than before, he slowly steps out onto the slippery floor, the arduous task of brushing his hair and beard rob him of what little strength he has left, stumbling back to his bed he struggles to put on a clean red union undergarment, his socks nearly to hard to grab as his feet are to far away, finally he pulls on his pants, he pours cup of coffee and gently packs his pipe with scraps of tobacco, he pulls on his coat and shuffles out the door, the sun struggles to shine through the haze, the air is mild, as the world awakens, not one soul seems to care for the troubles and plight this old man must endure each day;
