Bon bah le client matrix Sable (fork de Cinny) c'est un banger.
L'interface est hyper claire, on retrouve beaucoup de fonctionnalités similaires à celles de Discord, mais en beaucoup plus lisible et reposant selon moi.
Y'a pas de trucs qui clignotent, de pop-ups d'offres spéciales, de pseudos qui ont payé pour avoir des trucs ultra flashy qui trigger mon TDAH... Même l'architecture et la police d'écriture sont plus accessibles.

For anyone wondering why I hate #matrix, here's a funny anecdote from today:
- Room I'm in moves. Annoying but understandable, there's a button to join the new one
- Doesn't work. No details. Is my client broken?
- Try in Element, button still doesn't work. Says I'm not in the right room to join the new room from the old room?????
- Since it's impossible to chat in the old room, I can't even ask for help.
- Guess I'm never talking to those folks again!

Ok an die #Foss Community draußen. Wie hoch ist die Hürde ein #matrix Server selbst zu hosten? Zielgrösse 30 Nutzende, Server Location wäre Deutschland. Nutzung von Screensharing und Video Calls auch in Gruppen. Wir nutzen gerade 80% Slack, 20% #Mattermost.

So after a day or two of banging on my keyboard I got a #rust CLI tool going that lets me manage my #matrix #synapse server via the MAS endpoints.
I’m sure there was some faster way to autogenerate a tool with Swagger or what have you but it was a good exercise
My next move is to set up a service for my users to associate OIDC links with their accounts automatically. It can be done manually with the MAS admin tools but that is obvs unpleasant
