Countering toxicity and fake takes is not just a technical question (moderation, admins etc) but one of social curation both collectively and privately: which people and groups do you/we trust for what. No tool can automate that.

#deltachat is for private e2ee messaging and mutually curated group chats, and not random social media propelled onboarding. We are with #Signal here and not with #simplex and #matrix who offer public anonymous discovery of large chat groups with lots of unknown folks.

The idea of leaving #whatsapp for a more open, secure, and #privacy respecting alternative is really appealing.

However, many people still only use WhatsApp, including for work chats. And as long as this remains the case, switching isn't easy

If this issue were solved, I’m sure a lot more people would move away.

Ich habe gerade erst verstanden, dass der TK-Gesundheitsmessenger auf #Matrix basiert.
Wenn ich damit tatsächlich mit meinen Ärzt innen und Krankenhäusern/ Praxen #E2EE kommunizieren, und so auf E-Mail verzichten kann, ist das wirklich ein Fortschritt! 🤩😎🙂

I disappointed that Matrix/Element still doesn't have support for multi accounts or importing messages. Multi accounts there are workaround, but not for importing messages.

Considering there is support for migration from Slack I think it is silly that there is no migration from Matrix.
