Ne aber mal ernsthaft:
Ich sehe das genauso. Ich nutze auch #Threema , lieber noch self-hosted #Matrix . Es ist aber deutlich schwieriger, Kontakte von diesen Plattformen zu überzeugen, auch wenn ich es täglich versuche. #Signal ist somit, weil zmd. Auditable und Populär das kleinere Übel.
Ein Threema/Matrix Push ist Sinnvoll, aber nicht um jeden Preis. Vorallem darf es uns nicht davon abhalten, kleine Schritte in die richtige Richtung vorzunehmen!

My favorite part of the job has always been people, and it’s even more true at FOSDEM.
In those “backstage” pictures you can see what I love. People having fun, people taking care of each other, people helping each other.
FOSDEM is where I can thank those who make the software I use. It’s where we can meet. It’s where I can give back.
Like every year I’m exhausted and looking forward to the next one. Thanks all for being part of this.

Seht her, sehr her! Es gibt nur einen einzig waren Messenger! #threema ist der Beste! Alle anderen sind doof! Bei #matrix hat eine Firma, die über drei Ecken irgendwie verknüpfbar ist was mit Metadaten zu tun. Dafür habe ich sogar einen Beweis! Einen Link zu einem heise Forum Beitrag, den ich selbst verfasst habe! #signal ist eh böse! Geht alle zu Threema. Das ist zwar zentralisistsch und die Server Implementierung ist proprietär, aber das ist egal! Geht einfach zu Threema! Denn das ist das, was ich den ganzen Tag auf social media poste! Deshalb ist alles wahr, was ich sage! Widerworte? Mach ich platt, oder blocke ich einfach! Ich verschwende einfach gerne die Zeit anderer Menschen! Geht zu Threema! Geht zu Threema! Additionally, several granular privacy features are missing, which is a limitation that should be overlooked, including hiding your profile pic etc.
One is also unable to search bridged messengers' contacts, which is a huge limitation implemented brilliantly by Beeper.

I am currently testing Element X iOS and it appears to be functioning well, including with bridges integrating other messengers.
However, the tech-jargon used is difficult to comprehend and may be confusing for users. A more intuitive naming convention, such as calling chats ‘chats’ and groups ‘groups’, would likely facilitate adoption. Instead, the platform uses ‘Rooms’ and ‘Spaces’, which lack clear definitions.

Ich würde gerne Threema oder Matrix für meine Kommunikation per Messenger nutzen. Nur zieht niemand mit. „Ich hab nix zu verbergen“ „Die Wissen eh schon alles“ „Werbung? Mir egal“ . Das es um digitale Unabhängigkeit geht, will den Leuten nicht in den Kopf.., sehr schade
