I've been reading tips about the Fediverse, and this cracked me up: "“John Mastodon” is a long-running joke that began in 2022 when a media outlet incorrectly claimed that Mastodon was founded by someone called John Mastodon, possibly due to some garbled notes about the “Join Mastodon” website that helps people sign up. This mistake was so ludicrous that it rapidly became a meme on the Fediverse."

Over at @fedihost we get asked about character limits enough times for me to write this up in the hopes of heading off some support tickets.
Basically, the character limit is hard-coded so you have to run a branch to change the limit to over 500.
Do you guys think that #Mastodon should make the character limit easier to change?

You can attach images, video files or audio files to Mastodon posts:
🖼️ Images can be PNG, JPG, HEIF, WEBP, AVIF or GIF (including animated GIFs)
📺 Video clips can be MP4, M4V, MOV or WebM files
🔈 Audio clips can be MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, OPUS, AAC or 3GP files
The maximum file size for each image is usually 16 MB, for video or audio it's usually 99 MB. There is no restriction on running time, just file size.

Del veterinario vengo.
Le han hecho otra analítica a Leo para ajustar la medicación y nos han mandado más pastillas para fortalecer el cartílago de las patas.
El pobre a veces se me “despatarrra” sin darse cuenta, como si el cuerpo ya no obedeciera igual que antes.
Iba con miedo, la verdad.
Estos días lo notaba peor: más apagado, come poco, a ratos parece desorientado… y una empieza a imaginarse lo peor.
Pero no.
No hay nada nuevo.
Simplemente lo que cuesta aceptar: la vejez.
Así que toca cuidarlo más, tener paciencia y acompañarlo en esta etapa con todo el cariño del mundo.
Ellos nos regalan años de lealtad… y lo mínimo es devolverles calma cuando el tiempo empieza a pesar.
Ah, y la visita: 90 euros.
El amor por los animales también pasa por caja, pero bueno… Leo lo vale.

Nachdem wir uns eine #Mastodon Instanz gegönnt haben, geht es nun mit einer PeerTube Instanz weiter.
Alles irgendwie aufregend und toll... aber auch echt viel Input auf einmal. Da kommt natürlich auch noch unser Wechsel #WindowsToLinux mit hinzu.
Das ist echt anstrengend...
Vielleicht schaffen wir das bis zum Ende des Jahres.
Wir haben uns vorgenommen, dass demnächst in unserem Blog zu dokumentieren. Vielleicht hilft das den einen und anderen - und wenn es "nur" Mut gibt :)

Happy three-week anniversary of being immediately told to… sorry, I almost said a no-no word right there, which would have been a COC violation. I know that you're very hard at work and it was just a fluke that you closed an issue within one business day but didn't merge one for almost a month. Obviously, your action on this issue speaks toward your view of accessibility, and how much you take it seriously.
