After #Mozilla released an #AI based Link Previews feature for #Firefox people pointed out that pointed out that Link Previews are actually a problem to parse on the #fediverse
Since it seemed like a real problem (based on an article by @itsfoss), I wrote up a proposal for Link Preview Manifests: a lightweight, cacheable, and verifiable resource to let clients get preview metadata from a URI.

Wow... diesmal hat es mich nicht mal drei Minuten gekostet und schon wieder wurde ich wieder von einem dieser, angeblich "linken", Spinner unfreundlich geblockt. Dabei hab ich einfach nur kurz meine politische Meinung gesagt und dabei sogar einen Grünen verteidigt. Wie geistig eingeschränkt muss man als Mensch eigentlich sein, dass man JEDE, der eigenen Meinung nicht zustimmende, Stimme sofort und ohne Diskussion blockieren muss?
Ich persönlich würde niemals einen Menschen blockieren, nur weil mir seine Meinung nicht gefällt. Da wären soziale Medien doch einfach langweilig und sinnlos, wenn ich nur noch mit Leuten spreche, denen ich zustimme. Man kann ja widersprechen, wenn man es wichtig findet.

How do activitypub-based services such as #mastodon react if they are restored, say from a 2-3 days old backup? Save the missing local content from that time, is there something that would confuse the system by remote instances referencing to now missing local content or queued tasks getting replayed?

I am a few weeks in to "#Mastodon being my only social media".
It is, err, interesting.
I have zero local engagement in #Abergavenny on this - which I sort of miss.
I have zero family engagement on this - but we have group iMessage, so really makes no odds to that.
I have news, and some of the insanity of the world in my face, but less fake news I feel.
I have less stress, mostly, I think
I can "run out" of "scroll" while I have coffee in the morning, which is new!

Estoy cansada de ver cuentas que no hacen otra cosa más que pedir dinero —y no me importa el motivo que aleguen—, perfiles sin una identidad clara que solo difunden las mismas imágenes y vídeos sobre Irán una y otra vez, muchas de ellas con señales claras de desinformación o contenido generado por inteligencia artificial que se aprovecha del caos informativo reciente.
No me interesa seguir ni interactuar con cuentas que no tienen perfil definido, publicaciones propias o una razón legítima para estar ahí.
Por eso he decidido bloquear o silenciar a todas las que parecen estar más interesadas en monetizar, sembrar confusión o sacar ventaja de líos geopolíticos que en aportar contenido real y verificado.
