The Glitch-soc fork is cool but need some accessibility enhancements.
One of them is a setting to either show remaining character limit or type charactre count on the edit box, or even both.
this enhancement will be particularly helpful for instances that have higher character limit, and people often struggle to do the math to know how much they have typed.
and it'd be nice to have the quote post outside the more dialog.
also, number system to navigate to various sections of mastodon e.g. home, notification, search, profile, etc, will allow for faster switch.
the autocomplete dialog for usernames are quite sluggish to come up and and it's hard to access them with #screenReader.
We need more Blind people using the direct UI of the instance so that we can give constructive feedback to the dev to improve the experience further.

I can't believe my online persona have changed very much. Two years ago, I started my Bluesky profile (I didn't know Mastodon yet during that time) as a regular music fan who post cassette tapes, Indonesian independent record labels, updates on niche and small artists, record stores in my area. Bluesky is very good in this field. Lots of artists are there and music feeds are endless. I am still a music fan to this day, although music is no longer my priority on my online social profiles.
However, I noticed that Bluesky users aren't that much interested in tech posts. As I start to get introduced to Mastodon, I was confused at first. Mastodon felt archaic to my understanding at that time. Why follower list of a profile is empty? Why the follower count is empty? At some point I start to recognize Mastodon, a truly decentralized networking.
After my migration to Mastodon, I felt the dilemma coming back to Bluesky for music stuff. I did that some time ago. The reason is because Mastodon is not an ideal platform to find more artists. Lots of bands and musicians still prefer Bluesky and they don't seem to be interested to use Mastodon. Since I am still an avid music fan (although I don't show it here as much as I was years ago on Bluesky), I still yearn to see updates on my favorite artists. I tried to persuade some of them to use Mastodon, but they just lack the interest.
I have boycotted Meta platforms. I deleted my WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Thread. I have boycotted Microsoft by deleting my Microsoft account and switched my computer operating system into Linux. I cannot boycott Google yet, as this one is tricky and some say it is impossible. I also, unfortunately, cannot boycott Bluesky yet as I still need to see updates on my favorite artists.

Ran across this article on Hacker News. It's got a few months under its belt, but it surprised me #Mastodon didn't warrant a mention. I'm a huge fan of #RSS, and get most of my news that way, but it's also a Mastodon feature. I don't always "follow" Mastodon accounts from Mastodon. Sometimes I follow them through RSS. Every Mastodon profile has at least 2 RSS feeds, and they can make following some profiles incredibly handy. Social media and RSS isn't mutually exclusive.

OK, for real, why does #Mastodon use an attachment type of "Document" when posting a video?
I think the spec says "Video" is OK to use.
