My 7 day mourning period has passed (starting 2026, April 10th at 5:00 pm PST) I still plan to make a tribute post, but I am not ready yet today. Time went by too fast when I wasn't kept up to date with the world, although I did break my no negativity rule about 40 times, and was partially aware of what is going on in Ukraine, Iran, and Lebanon, but not the other 24 conflicts. All 27 conflicts resumed full coverage on 2026, April 10th.
It took me a while to get back to Mastodon, due to how thrown off my schedule has become lately. I got caught back up on my Mastodon feed today at 4:57 pm (2026, April 14th) It took well over an hour. I may not post as often for a while, but I have plenty of boost-able posts stocked up (40 are currently stocked up, which I will spread out over several days (at least 1 week)) It may take a while for a tribute post to be created. This will be my only Mastodon post today.

Hereโs something I didnโt anticipate from being on #Mastodon: my #writing has changed. For starters, itโs backโespecially when it comes from a place of joy. Thereโs a sense of confidence now, even a bit of pride in those brief fragments, to the point where Iโm tempted to turn them into a #zine. Maybe thatโs getting ahead of myself, but the rest feels certain. The absence of the usual voracity and hostility here carries a kind of healing I never expected.
