I'm really leery of the new blocklist sharing feature being proposed as part of Masotdon's Sovereign Tech Agency funding. While I'm excited Mastodon is receiving an STF grant, blocklist abuse has been a recurring issue and I'm not eager to see it codified in the admin interface.
For those that weren't here a few years back, Mastodon has a pretty ugly history with blocklists. They've been repeatedly used to block sex positivity, kink, and LGBTQ+ content. While I agree there are a lot of really bad servers on the Fediverse, I'm nervous that blocklist sharing will lead to the same kinds of censorship we saw a few years back. Plus, and no shade to the people who use it, but the Fediblock hashtag has a lot of posts from people who operate on little to no proof of their claims, or who just want to abuse it.
To be totally honest though, my hangup with blocklists comes from the fact that CubHub still has to deal with being suspended by a lot of servers from a bad blocklist. We were wrongfully flagged because someone didn't bother to check our About page that clearly states we do not allow porn of under-age characters, because stupid people think "cub" automatically means cub porn. 
It doesn't.
So yeah, I dunno. The other proposals look interesting, and, while I've never been one to think we really need E2EE on private messages and who thought it'd just introduce a lot of friction for users, I'm not opposed to it if they can get the UX of it working well.

New problem with Mastodon or Pachli: likes and boosts aren't working from the main page a lot of the time.
I can •click• on like or boost on my phone, but like doesn't seem to work most of the time. Or it might show as if it was successful, but goes away if I click to open the post itself.
Why would I click to open the post? Because about 85% of the time •I can't boost unless I open the post•. That's when I discover that the Like I clicked on from the main page magically disappeared.
I literally had EXACTLY that experience again while writing this. Saw a post I liked, so I clicked the star to indicate that I liked it. Then I tried to boost it, but while it acted as if I had clicked on boost it didn't change the color of the boost symbol. So I opened the post by clicking on the text. Sure enough, it was no longer liked nor boosted.
Something is definitely wrong with either Mastodon or Pachli. But I suspect that the problem is more likely to be with Mastodon; either that, or Mastodon has another issue. Because when I post or comment from my browser (Brave on a Windows 11 system), there's a huge lag. My internet connection is perfectly fine, and I'm not seeing this effect with any other website. I just get the rotating blue wheel of Lag for 15 to 20 seconds, if not longer.
I can open up Mastodon in another window, and my post or comment will be there. But it will show ad still lagging and not yet posted in the original Mastodon window.
I don't know what the problem is!

After a short exchange, we met in person & got along easily. He praised my openness, admired my commitment to #Naturism, & introduced me to his circle. 🤔 … is it the case that ActivityPub doesn't support a primary *and secondary* language field — to say “this post is primarily in Language-A but it might be confusing if you don't know Language-B as well”.
Started thinking about this because the post I'm replying to defaulted to “Deutsch” in the Mastodon web client. The post is mostly in “English” but includes one German sentence & a few other German words.
