Motaz Malhees non sarà presente alla cerimonia degli Oscar, in programma il 15 marzo. L’attore – tra i protagonisti del film “La voce di Hind Rajab” (candidato a Miglior film internazionale) di Kaouther Ben Hania – ha pubblicato un post su Instagram in cui annuncia che non gli “è permesso entrare negli Stati Uniti perché sono un cittadino palestinese. Fa male ma questa è la verità“, scrive l’attore, che sottolinea: “Puoi bloccare un passaporto, ma non una voce. Sono palestinese e resto in piedi con orgoglio e dignità. Sarò lì con lo spirito. La nostra storia è più grande di ogni ostacolo e verrà ascoltata”.
Vincitore del Leone d’Argento all’82esima Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, “La voce di Hind Rajab” riporta lo spettatore al 29 gennaio 2024, quando i volontari della Mezzaluna Rossa ricevono una chiamata di emergenza. Una bambina di sei anni è intrappolata in un’auto sotto attacco a Gaza e implora di essere salvata. Mentre cercano di tenerla al telefono, i soccorritori fanno tutto il possibile per farle arrivare un’ambulanza. Il suo nome era Hind Rajab. La proiezione a Venezia è stata accolta da oltre venti minuti di applausi, con un impatto fortissimo sulla platea anche grazie alla scelta della regista tunisina di utilizzare la vera registrazione della telefonata.
“Ho deciso di fare l’attore dopo l’assassinio del mio amico. Non per la fama, i riflettori o il lusso, ma per essere un messaggero che diffonde la verità sul mio Paese e il mio popolo. Perché sembra che a nessuno importi”, aveva dichiarato Motaz Malhees a ottobre 2025 a ilfattoquotidiano.it. “Solo negli ultimi due anni il mondo ha iniziato a rendersi conto dell’incubo in cui viviamo, ed è triste. È da 77 anni che i palestinesi sono colonizzati, sottoposti a pulizia etnica, uccisi, torturati”.

Motaz Malhees will not be present at the Academy Awards ceremony, scheduled for March 15th. The actor – one of the stars of Kaouther Ben Hania’s film “The Voice of Hind Rajab” (nominated for Best International Feature Film) – posted on Instagram announcing that he is “not allowed to enter the United States because I am a Palestinian citizen. It hurts, but this is the truth,” the actor writes, emphasizing: “You can block a passport, but not a voice. I am Palestinian and I stand with pride and dignity. I will be there with the spirit. Our story is bigger than any obstacle and will be heard.”
Winner of the Silver Lion at the 82nd Venice Film Festival, “The Voice of Hind Rajab” takes the viewer back to January 29, 2024, when volunteers from the Red Crescent receive an emergency call. A six-year-old girl is trapped in a car under attack in Gaza and begs to be rescued. While they try to keep her on the phone, the rescuers do everything possible to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab. The screening in Venice was met with over twenty minutes of applause, with a strong impact on the audience thanks to the Tunisian director’s choice to use the actual recording of the call.
“I decided to become an actor after the murder of my friend. Not for fame, the spotlights, or luxury, but to be a messenger spreading the truth about my country and my people. Because it seems that no one cares,” Motaz Malhees had stated in October 2025 to ilfattoquotidiano.it. “It’s only in the last two years that the world has begun to realize the nightmare we are living in, and it’s sad. Palestinians have been colonized, subjected to ethnic cleansing, killed, tortured for 77 years.”

Retroceso en la privacidad – Meta eliminará el cifrado de extremo a extremo en Instagram este 8 de mayo
En un movimiento que no brinda sorpresa a los defensores de la ciberseguridad, Meta ha confirmado que dejará de dar soporte al cifrado de extremo a extremo (E2EE) en los mensajes directos de Instagram. A partir del 8 de mayo de 2026, las conversaciones que los usuarios consideraban «blindadas» dejarán de tener esta protección técnica, permitiendo que la compañía recupere la capacidad de acceder al contenido de los chats para fines de moderación y cumplimiento legal (Fuente Meta).
Este anuncio llega apenas unos días después de que TikTok rechazara implementar el cifrado y en medio de la batalla legal de Anthropic contra el gobierno, dibujando un 2026 donde la privacidad absoluta parece estar perdiendo la partida frente a la vigilancia y la seguridad estatal.
¿Por qué Meta «mata» el cifrado en Instagram?
La explicación oficial de la compañía, transmitida a través de notificaciones internas en la app, se basa en la baja adopción. A diferencia de WhatsApp, donde el cifrado es la norma, en Instagram el E2EE era una función opcional (opt-in) que pocos usuarios activaban manualmente.
- Simplificación del sistema: Meta argumenta que mantener dos arquitecturas de mensajería (una cifrada y otra estándar) en una app enfocada en creadores y contenido público es ineficiente.
- Presión regulatoria: Expertos sugieren que leyes como la Online Safety Act del Reino Unido y el control de chats en la UE han presionado a Meta para que tenga herramientas de escaneo de contenido contra el abuso infantil y el terrorismo, algo imposible bajo el cifrado total.
¿Qué pasará con tus chats actuales?
Si tienes conversaciones cifradas activas (los famosos «chats secretos»), esto es lo que debes saber antes de la fecha límite:
- Descarga obligatoria: Meta está instando a los usuarios a descargar sus mensajes y archivos multimedia antes del 8 de mayo si quieren conservar una copia privada. Después de esa fecha, el sistema de chats cifrados se retirará por completo.
- Conversión a «Chat Estándar»: Las conversaciones existentes no desaparecerán, pero perderán el escudo de cifrado. Meta podrá acceder técnicamente a los textos, fotos y vídeos compartidos a partir de ese momento.
- Llamadas afectadas: Aunque el aviso se centra en el texto, se espera que las llamadas de voz y vídeo dentro de Instagram también pierdan esta capa de protección adicional.
El refugio sigue siendo WhatsApp
Para calmar a los inversores y usuarios preocupados por la privacidad, Meta ha sido clara: el cifrado de extremo a extremo seguirá siendo el estándar por defecto en WhatsApp y Messenger. La estrategia de 2026 parece ser la segmentación: WhatsApp para la privacidad total y personal, e Instagram para la interacción pública y comercial (donde ahora incluso se prueban enlaces clickeables en los pies de foto).
Un marzo negro para la privacidad digital
Esta noticia es el broche de oro a una quincena donde la seguridad del usuario ha estado en el centro del debate:
- Hackers rusos explotando precisamente la confianza en apps como Signal.
- Google Play bloqueando apps bancarias por errores de certificación en el nuevo Galaxy S26.
- El lanzamiento de X Money, que exigirá una transparencia financiera total a Elon Musk.
La recomendación para quienes manejen información sensible es clara: si el cifrado es una prioridad, es momento de migrar esas conversaciones fuera de Instagram antes de mayo.
