One and a half years ago my son presented a game during a local #Godot user group meeting, with some Foundation reps present. It was a rough idea, a small playable proof of concept.
Even though he didn't work full time on it, it has matured into something worth a release. The date has arrived.
Tomorrow my so, 13 years of age, will release his first game on Steam. No AI, no outside help. Accessibility features, an ingame level editor with online sharing. Dad's so proud, son. So proud.

Fixed some bugs in #JuggleStarDX and got rid of pretty much all physics jank. Wanted to explore something else today and wrote a generic dot matrix shader.
It works on a screen space basis but you can just chuck it on a viewport and call it a day for a quick effect. Could maybe end up using it later.
You can see me playing with some light strength in the video and there's also a view of what the scene actually looks like.

Making browser games is an exercise in masochism. #godot is great, but browsers vary wildly especially when trying to support both mobile and desktop. Still, it's interesting to experiment.
- I have found that running the game at a low frame rate will starve the audio buffer? Weird.
- some browsers force touch as mouse input
- you can't use crazy addons like raytraced audio
- syncing audio with animation gets tricky
- sound reactive shaders still work!
- still more fun than threejs
