Hey #Bluesky people (I know a few of you follow me!)

As you might be aware, Bluesky has very publicly given in to transphobic moderation policies and fascist censorship laws over the last few days. The #Fediverse is always free. It always will be free. Every government on the entire planet could literally outlaw the Fediverse and it would still be around, and still be free. You can't stop decentralized media; it'd be like banning having a computer — and that's probably what they would have to do if they wanted to even put a dent in us.

Get off your corporate platform before it implodes and find yourself a nice Fediverse instance today! You commies and anarchists can come join mine at hub.workersofthe.world , but there are awesome instances out there for everyone, whether you want to join a simple general regional one like mstdn.ca or a silly dragon-themed one like derg.social . It doesn't matter, they all federate, but it gives you a nice starting point that you can feel at home in, and that isn't owned by a corporation that's "forced" to do evil shit by an evil government. If you still feel analysis paralysis, hit me up; I can probably find somewhere perfect for you and be your friend to ease you into the non-algorithmic experience.

Come join us!

This story is odd considering how many times I've been told that #BlueSky was created by trans for trans

:tony_normal:

The question is, do you care? I'm not a lawyer, so I can't answer that for you specifically, but 10.000+ fediverse operators across the world get to make that decision for themselves.

#Bluesky HELP! The mayor of Graysville AL removed 2 minority women from a town council meeting last night. He instructed police to handcuff, if necessary, one who is his opponent in Tuesday's election. He denied these women their First Amendment Rights of free speech and peaceful assembly.

The way #Bluesky is reacting to Mississippi’s age law proves everything I said about BlueSky (i.e. it’s not decentralized at all), but large services or platforms pulling out of states that pass overreaching, intrusive age verification laws is the right move.

Just a special bonus post to let you know that accounts in Mississippi USA are working just fine on the Fediverse. There are no corporate overlords that can block them.

For example you could follow these:

➡️ @msfreepress - Non-profit local news site based in Mississippi, women-run

➡️ @thedeltareview - Blog about culture and lifestyle in Mississippi and the Southeastern USA

➡️ @MSTODAYnews - Non-profit news organisation covering Mississippi
