2. don't deliver on the promise (#decentralization)
3. nevertheless harvest feverish cult devotion on the promise, be damned the reality
people out there enthuse about decentralization and bluesky

Emily Gorencenski made a tool for #bluesky called Skeeter Deleter: https://github.com/Gorcenski/skeeter-deleter
It lets you archive off your toots (including boosts, likes, imagery etc) and then delete everything older than a threshold, while skipping things you've personally posted and then self-liked.
Is there a similar tool for #mastodon that someone has written? Yes, I could use export regularly or setup the auto-delete function (and remember to export). But the simplicity of skeeter deleter appeals.
