When I joined the two in November, I expected #Bluesky to be where I stay engaged politically, with Mastodon for art & fermentation adventures.
And that kind of happened, but there are differences that made it difficult.
Bluesky seemed to be a bit of a firehose of political engagement -- my posts don't reach anyone, I lack a critical mass of followers.

It's worth noting that in the recent #BlueSky vs #Fediverse drama, the fundamental complaint was that BlueSky wasn't centralized enough, so some people are coming to Fediverse seeking that centralization.
For the years of talk about how BlueSky isn't decentralized like Fediverse, those folks were always wrong, and this is another case illustrating their getting that backwards.
Fediverse is centralized around instances. BlueSky is decentralized down to users. Of the two, BlueSky is the decentralized option.
Whether that's good or bad is a separate matter.

i love how the bluesky team’s entire thing was “if you don’t like the moderation here move somewhere else”, but if you actually try doing that and spin up your PDS and relay and stuff it’s all for naught because their moderation decisions are enforced at the appview level and you can’t easily run yours yet.
this is also ignoring the fact that there is no real system in place for federated moderation, as in: if you get banned from the appview you don’t get notified about it, you aren’t given a reason, you don’t know if it might be permanent or a timeout…
