I think the recent troubles with bluesky just prove that social media was a mistake from the getgo and we shouldve never left the era of forums, personal websites and blogs. #bluesky
I frankly don’t understand why everyone went to #BlueSky in the first place. Centralized social media will have the same outcome every time.
I keep seeing posts from people welcoming an alleged influx of #Bluesky users to Mastodon.
If your welcoming people, try and get it right. #Mastodon is a piece of software, not a social network. It sits within the #Fediverse, which is the network.
Simply explained... You are in a purple car on the road. You can see all the other cars on the road (the fediverse). You can all chat to each other. The colour is not important, just the fact they all run on the same road.

Those big corporate social "networks", are GIANT trees, where you, the lowly user, are but a leaf. All the sunlight and nutrients you bring just go right to the Lying Billionaires in the trunk.
