I now started to evaluate whether I like #mastodon or #bluesky more. At the very beginning I enjoyed the UX of #bluesky more, also #AT seemed cool. Now, after a few months, I favour Mastodon and #activitypub. I want to curate my feed, #bsky throws too info and unwanted functions on me. #fediverse
I don't think you can say that. AS has more uses than with AP. I know of at least:
- Linked Data Event Streams
- DCAT-AP and DCAT-AP Feeds
- Linked Data Event Notifications
And as for #ActivityStreams relation to #ActivityPub I'd say - and it is the argument I make in the GH issue - that we have a vocubulary without good grammar and language. The AS social primitives are loose words, and you can construct any gibberish with them and try to make it popular slang.
How happy is the marriage between #ActivityPub and #ActivityStreams? 🤔

I completely and utterly agree, Dave. It SURE WOULD make things simpler to just CONSUME MY BLOG'S RSS, that I ALREADY MAKE with my site generators, then have to worry about implementing all these endpoints and a dynamic inbox. The current best practice to integrate your website with the Fediverse is just converting your RSS to AP notes for your outbox:

The only sticking point left is how to make the inbox part easier for people so they can get "pingbacks"?

I originally got the idea from this, but the #ActivityPub plugin didn't play nice with Bridgy.

This AP vs AT debate feels a lot like lefties dealing with the establishment Dems.

"There is an entire section of the #ActivityPub specification which provides fairly similar ideas to those emphasized within the #ATProto community for separation between data, identity & applications. Recently, a taskforce within the #SocialWeb Community Group has been established to advance what is now known as the ActivityPubAPI.
Whilst we may have our differences at present, over time those gaps will narrow, as we share a lot more in common than we have differences."

hm... was mach ich falsch beim Folgen mit dem #activitypub plugin bei wordpress? Es sieht aus, als müsste ich das Folgen bestätigen, aber ich sehe nicht wo.
I love discovering niche instances (Some of them being single user instances) that are running forks of #Mastodon or using #Pleroma, #snac, #Sharkey and #IceShrimp - Love to see it.
