@ricci @mastodonmigration As a side note, while the logic and interpretation for #activitypub is quite straight forward, for #atproto it is more complicated not only because of user data versus moderation, but also because of relays, appview servers and so on, which are also important aspect of decentralization, since these components also give significant control over what people can see.
Thanks a lot for this great chart!
I think it is a very useful tool for showing the current status as well as change over time of decentralization of various ecosystems.
I also fully support the view that it should be not misused to dunk or bully various protocols. The chart is about decentralization of ecosystems, not about technical capabilities of protocols - and both #atproto and #ActivityPub support decentralization, so that's the end of this story anyway.
HELP: what could I do in this case?
WordPress with ActivityPub. Self-hosted.
An author posts Italian contents, another posts English; but if I have a third author posting in both languages, some English posts are missed - unless they follow the whole network (blog) with all contents, including the one Italian or English readers could not be interested in.

@w101 That is just amazing, Wolfgang.
Take it from someone who have struggled with embedding Facebook and Instagram for years.
Dealing with anything #ActivityPub is just SO MUCH easier, predictable and robust.
I simply deny touching anything Meta any more. I'll guide my clients in the right direction, to someone I trust, for sure. But I'm not dealing with Meta's "services" again, ever.

I love #activitypub, the vocabulary and spec for methods like revoking a badge is already there on a decentralized network, so I just need to implement it

The biggest changes in release v2.4.12 of Ktistec are the UI/UX enhancements. The mobile profile, in particular, felt like an afterthought—which it was. The changes make the mobile experience much more pleasant and ergonomic. All of the credit for this work goes to @jayvii.
This release also now refuses to deserialize and use embedded ActivityPub objects from hosts other than the host of the embedding object. While I haven't encountered any problems with the previous implementation in practice, this fix closes a gap that could be exploited by a bad actor to spoof or change content.

I finally convinced the nonprofit where I volunteer to use @badgefed !!
It is interesting, because as I mentioned in @firesidefedi the fediverse is not a priority in terms of their audience. So even that the badges are using #activitypub on the back, their whole experience is in the badges system, and other automation systems.
Also, the feedback I have get from a user perspective from the CEO is priceless, they just issued 500+ badges! Let's see if these scales!

Content warning:SPOILERS from Steven Universe: The Movie
I still think this motto can represent the fediverse.
Also, after 6 years I still can't believe Steg Multiverse is a thing.

Revolutionary idea: What if social media platforms actually let you control your data?
@loops does, with full data exports, retention controls & opt-in analytics.
