I have ideas for building something out of https://schema.org/ScholarlyArticle, https://schema.org/citation and dashes of https://w3c.github.io/scholarly-html/ for @encyclia. Could enable e.g. “this post discusses this article”, “find posts related to this publication”, or long-form articles with declarative references.
Maybe @jonny has thoughts too?
that's why I love reader apps with text to speech. but we've gotta find a better way to get the writers paid beyond paywalls etc. otherwise most people won't pay and will still be poorly informed.
@wallabag is great but I wish it had #ActivityPub integration. same with podcasts.

Kysymys ActivityPubista: Olen asettanut blogitekstit päivittymään Mastodoniin automaattisesti, mutta näyttää siltä että myös vanhojen tekstien uudelleenjulkaisu lähettää ne tänne.
En löytänyt asetuksista sellaista vaihtoehtoa, että julkaisisi fedissä vain uudet tekstit. Tuntuu tarpeettomalta spämmäykseltä, jos vanhatkin pomppaavat feediin, kun silloin tällöin olisi tarvetta käydä enemmänkin vanhoja tekstejä läpi ja päivittää mm. vanhentuneita päivämääriä tai linkkejä.
Onko tähän joku viisaus mitä en ole huomannut? Plugin ei nähdäkseni laita artikkeliin itseensä sellaista asetusta josta voisi artikkelikohtaisesti valita lähteekö eteenpäin vai ei.

if there was mitra with the entire feature set of mastodon it would be crazy. Mitra is way easier to setup, maintain and configure and mastodon has a great ui, moderation and administation through a webui. Mitra's ui is very limited, theyer implementations of relays is stupid and it doesnt have object storage. Mastodon doesnt allow you to change the default message lenght without breaking the update system, has way higher resource usage and the setup for nginx is just a big ball of jank. Combining mastodon and mitra would make the ultime activitypub server.

@dansup if I boost a post from my #pixelfed account with my mastodon account, I can’t see the boost in Pixelfed. Is there anything I can check in the config or #ActivityPub settings/actor why this doesn’t show up?
