Think it's time to expand my fediverse network so best way is with proper introduction!
My name is Kotking which is rus+eng Cat+King so German speakers, it's not what you think it is 
.
I am on fediverse few years already, to be precise right after api blackout on reddit happened. Reddit was fun but that was my last straw that opened my eyes. So with how hectic that event was I was too shy for making introductions and time just gone by.
What motivated me to make proper one?
First I started to stream games, which was my big goal for years but only recently I got hardware for this. I am still financially insecure but price of streaming changed over years. I made my Owncast server https://show.kotking.noho.st/ with Yunohost so thanks for their existence and support them if you can.
Today I will get to family reunion in Hades so those who played know how far it is.
Second I am big fan/obsessed with Arknights, so would love to reach out others as well. I have @Kotking@misskey.io dedicated to arknights fan-art I found on fedi, so give it a follow and follow Arknights Fan-Artists as well (most of them are japanese). It is NSFW so beware of some spicy and pornographic images boosted. Japanese (Misskey.io is japanese and law abiding instance) has law to treat bikini/too much skin as NSFW as well so beware that not all are erotic per say.
I also do niche clears for arknights

Nachdem ich am Wochenende die Größen der beiden Volumes auf der NAS ein wenig verändert habe, wollte #Syncthing nicht mehr, naja, syncen. Irgendwas mit den .stfolder. Berechtigungen scheinen aber sauber zu sein.
Ich hab das als Anlass genommen, auch mal einen Blick auf #Seafile zu werfen. Testweise in der #Yunohost Variante auf einer nur intern erreichbaren VM. Tut bisher, was es soll.
Da ich damit hauptsächlich die Dateien für's Blog und die #KeePass Tresore unter den Geräten verteile, kommt nun auch vermehrt #Bitwarden bzw. #Vaultwarden zum Einsatz.
Vielleicht schaue ich mir über die Feiertag mal die neue Lite Version vom Bitwarden-Paket an.

Zut, #yunohost ne propose plus l'architecture #armel. Du coup, mon fier Excito B3 ne peut plus être mis à jour. Ou alors, il va falloir que je fasse sans Yunohost, car des mises à jour Debian me sont toujours proposées.

c tellement pratique d'installer des services compliqués aussi facilement, sans quasi pas taper de commandes, sur un serveur #linux
T'as moyen d'installer ca sur un VPS a 2 balles par mois voir gratos chez certains, tu peux héberger tes contacts et calendrier du tel, tes marques page firefox, ton cloud, tes mots de passe etc...

I guess if Mastodon isn't going to install on #Yunohost any time soon due to their script being broken, #GoToSocial might be a good alternative to try...
Apparently it's more suited to a single-user instance anyway?
And it's fully Mastodon compatible too, meaning I can migrate to and from it, use Mastodon apps to post etc.
Might not be as fully-featured, but it's more lightweight and less resource-intensive.

Started a manual #backup (automatic with #Borg runs daily anyway) for the two #Yunohost servers I run, one has a backup size of 2TB, the over 1.8TB. All the #Nextcloud user data takes up this much space.
This will take hours, the bottle neck are the SATA drives for the data storage.

Ich mag #yunohost für seine einfache Domainverwaltung, automatisierte Backups, Webinterface, App-Vielfalt. Aber ja, fehlende Containertechnologie ist ein Problem, ich kriege gerade Paperless wegen Abhängigkeitsproblemen nicht installiert. Was wäre denn eine brauchbare Alternative auf Containerbasis? #selfhosting

* what backup strategy do you use to protect your precious data?
* has anyone hosted it against a cloud based RAID disk and an managed database instance like Postgres / MySQL from one of the major cloud providers.
My questions stem from being able to de-risk data loss as much as possible with as little pain possible to recover from a catastrophic failure.
