Today is the day to get the #VPS up and running!
The Geekom may have to wait until over Xmas when I'm off to get setup with #Nextcloud, but I can get Hostinger setup with #Yunohost today at the very least.

Best would have been to have the infrastructure of Google and 1&1 from some years ago and the working state of XMPP of today. Since that sweet spot wasn't hit, I'd recommend rebranding (never call a service XMPP or Jabber again, the protocol name isn't anything users want to know) and ways to provide certified infrastructure very conveniently. Don't know how though, currently. I'm a #Yunohost self hoster.

Advice for #selfhosting needed: I'm planning to use some time during the holidays to migrate my personal website + some small services. I like the option to just install some apps from the #YunoHost catalog. More importantly, I want to setup some simple python/flask apps.
How would such a setup look like? Using redirect and managing the environments & Gunicorn directly or would it be better to wrap the apps in some YunoHost apps to enable config via the admin interface?

It's very easy to install, although there's a lot to do after with customization and plugins. The "external folder" part I described is fairly intricate to get right, especially in how you want it to appear to users.
It took awhile for me to follow the conceptualization of virtualized "shares" versus a file system, and external folders are tied to the file system.

@gnomon @phire Context: I self-host a web server based on #Yunohost. I have a few web services on it (including the Fediverse instance from which I'm replying), the main one being Nextcloud. I wanted to be able to stream my music and first used Airsonic, then Navidrome. I'm about to ditch it. I installed a Nextcloud app named Music that accomplshes the same purpose - and it's compatible with Ampache and Subsonic APIs, so I can listen through an app on my phone.
